Now me, I hate going places where there are lots of tourists. Attractions are usual very over rated.
I like to go to out of the way places. A couple of places I would to visit are Hungary and Romania.
Budapest
Transylvania
Sailing on the Danube
and many more

This sight, found in Turkey predates Stone Henge by about 6, 000 years.
The site has massive carved stones, crafted and arranged by prehistoric people who had not yet developed metal tools or even pottery.
It's fascinating what people are finding.

With regards to pay, when my hubby gets home I'll ask him what the rate is.
When my dh was over the road, he was gone 3 weeks, home for 2 or 3 days then gone again for 3 weeks.
It's been a while since dh was driving over the road, but the expenses that I can remember are:
1) Food
2) Showers at truck stops
3) Phone calls, cell or pay phone
4) Laundry, or would you rather do 3 weeks worth in the short time he is home.
5) Entertainment - Beer, internet access, TV.
Has your hubby ever been an over the road truck driver? Does he have a class A?
What are some of the companies that you are looking at? I'll get hubby to tell me if they are goods ones to work for.
Let me tell you, being the wife of an over the road truck driver is HARD! If you can deal with him being gone for 3 or 4 weeks at a stretch and no breaks from the kids, then go for it, other wise, don't. It will put a big strain and stress on both of you. He will want to do nothing but rest when he gets home. Ask me how I know.

Did you know that you can cook food using your dishwasher?
My questions is, why would you even think that you could cook food in your dishwasher?

Even though the book has the same ending as the movie, Margaret accepting the proposal, if happens differently in the book.
There are a few other things that happen differently in the book as well.

Born and raised in the UK. Many places. I generally say I'm from the North West, near Manchester. Wasn't born there, but my moms family is from there.
Spent 22 years there, and have been in the US for 9 years now.

What's that? Is it a banana and coffee pie or is my imagination running away with me?
Almost. Banoffee pie
Bananas, cream and boiled condensed milk, on a crumbled biscuit (cookie) base. Yum Yum Yum

You can marry at 16, with parental consent.
The voting age is 18.
You are consider an adult at 18. Then you are able to buy alcohol. You used to be able to buy cigarettes at 16, but they changed that to 18 a year ago.
I'm not sure about renting, I lived with my mom until I was 19.

I'll bring some plain old regular salsa, if you don't mind. I'm allergic to mangoes.
Then I'll bring some peanut-butter cookies, homemade of cause and some Banoffee Pie.

I'm English, so I think I can answer your questions.
I was 15 when I left school, due to my birthday being in August. I spent a year working full time, night shift in a factory. I then went to college for 2 years, whilst working part time in the evening. If I had been so inclined, I could have gone onto Uni for 4 years, but I went back to working full time.

I have not watched many foreign films, so this is all new territory for me.
I recently watched Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress and followed the recommendations from there. Netfilx is great, because I would never have had the opportunity to watch these movies.

We live in a fairly quite neighborhood. Lots of old peoples, more so now that the snow birds are flying in.
I say fairly because last night there were 5 cops cars outside the neighbors house. They towed a car away. We have not seen any people at the house for about a week.

I have to say that Netflix is awesome.
I have Kung Fu Panda on the top of my list. It is not scheduled for release until Sunday, but it is shipping out today. This is the second time that I have had a new release ship before it was available in stores.

I just watched this! Let me know how you like it when you see it!
I sure will do.

I copied that from this website3. Do you live in tepees? No, the Wampanoag have never lived in that type of housing. One of the many stereotypes is that all Native People lived in tepees but the truth is we built houses that were suited to how we lived. Some Native People in the West lived in teepees; they moved around the Plains as they hunted buffalo.Teepees made sense for their way of life.
The Wampanoag made “wetus†(houses) that were dome shaped and covered with bark or cattail reeds. These houses were suited for the climate and our lives here in the Northeast.

This is a picture of a wetus.

Also on page 72, it has a story: Christmas Announcement.
And chapter 18 is a review chapter, that has some of the words from chapters 16 and 17.

I have a son who likes to melt down in math.
We are taking a break from a formal math curriculum at the moment and using this book.
The pages have all kinds of super heroes on them and you get a sticker to place on each page that you complete.
We are also using math in everyday situations. Shopping/cooking/reading.

I have an 8 yo boy, who loves to read and reads at quite a high level. He does not really like Story of the World or Our Island Story.
We have been leaning toward Ambleside/Old Fashioned Education.
Is it OK at this age for him to just read historical fiction, with the occasional look in an encyclopedia?
I don't want to force him into learning history with a book that he does not like. There is always time before he grows up to learn history.

One is always proud of ones country, but today is a day to be extra proud.
It has been 45 years since "I have a dream" was heard spoken at the Lincoln Memorial.
This country has traveled so far in such a short space of time, that everyone one has the right to be extra proud of their country today.
Has anyone read the Outlander book?

I've just finished read Outlander by Diana Gabaldon and have requested the others from the library.
Are the other books as good as the first?
I can't wait to see what happens to Jamie. I wouldn't mind tending to his wounds. :D Of cause I want to know what happens to Claire as well, but she's not as dreamy as Jamie.
Being English, I have encountered a few Scots who have called me a Sassenach, but never in an endearing way.
Now I just have to wait as patiently as possible for the books to arrive at the library. :toetap05:
