We asked a non-family member to be the back up plan if my parents weren't able to take the boys. That conversation happened 13 years ago. We need to update our will as I haven't spoken to my out-of-state friend for over a year.

I called. We'll see what happens. They said that I should expect a label in 7 to 10 business days. I'm to ship it to them and then their lab will look it over, either fix it and send it back or send me a new one. They could not tell me how long it will take. I could be waiting weeks to months...... In the meantime I need to purchase a different one so that I can do my project. I may have a new one to give to someone in need. :-)

I am going to try but the paperwork gives it only a 30 day limited warranty. My biggest problem is that I need to use it today or tomorrow. I won't get a replacement from Scotch in time for this project so I have to purchase a different one regardless. I'll let you know what they say.

I'm glad that it is working for you. Mine definitely is not!! I used it once when it first arrived and then went to use it last night for the first time since then and it just didn't work. I went on the Amazon web site and a lot of the poor ratings were experiences just like mine. It appears that if it works, it works fine but if it doesn't, it breaks on the 2nd or 3rd time. Very frustrating!!!

Thank you. I called my Sam's club and they have one that is $99 and sounds like it will work great!!! I hadn't even thought to look there.

I need one. What is the best one to get? I don't want a super expensive one but I don't want one that will break after one use like the Scotch TL901 that I bought from Amazon last October did!! I'm steaming over that....:angry: :cursing:

We use a fan for white noise. pointed toward us in the summer and away during the winter.

Back in October, I purchased a laminating machine from Amazon - when they had that really good deal. Anyway, I plugged in the machine for the 2nd time tonight and it doesn't work. It turned on, but after 3 minutes the "on" light went out. Is there anything that I can do? I can't even figure out how to even get a hold of Amazon. The return date has long expired.......

While I really like the piano, and musically it would probably be better for your son to start with the piano, I say let him play what he is begging you to play. My children seem to practice so much better when it is something that they chose rather than something that I chose for them. Now that I am letting them choose, I have one boy playing the guitar, one the piano, and one the violin. The boy playing the violin just turned 7 last week. He begged me for almost two years to play the violin. We began in January and he is progressing and practicing nicely!

Lincoln Park Zoo is Free and fun on a nice spring day. I just asked my 14 year old what he would want to do.... He said the Aquarium, Field Museum if you like Dinosaurs but his favorite is the Museum of Science and Industry. Some of his favorite exhibits at the Museum of Science and Industry are the U-boat and tour, train exhibit, chicks hatching, coal mine and the space section. My 7 year old boy would pick the Field Museum over everything because of the dinosaurs. He is quite dinosaur crazy though.

I'd call the dentist and see if they will let him. As long as the office knows that you gave permission, I don't think that they'll have a problem with it. Or you can have them call you after the appointment so you can pay over the phone. I pay my bills over the phone all the time.

Would parents be prosecuted if they didn't make sure that their child was in school? That is something that I can see being very worried about.....

Don't give up. I declined a good friends invitation to her annual Christmas party for a couple of years in a row. I was stressed with my boys and just didn't have the energy. Now my boys are older, I'm medicated and I would love to go but she stopped inviting me. An invitation doesn't cost you anything so keep inviting.
