  1. That’s what happened to my son when he was 17. It’s not fun! You learn to live with it but it still sucks
  2. We were recently forced to go to an ER cuz our urgent care was closed. I always have tried to go to Urgent Care cuz it's way cheaper Thank God the urgent care was closed. We thought our son had the stomach flu and was dehydrated after days of vomiting. Long story short...he was admitted in critical condition with undiagnosed Tyoe 1 insulin dependent diabetes. Had we taken him home and waited til the next day it could have been catastrophic. Course now anytime he over sleeps I feel like I need to call an ambulance ?
  3. My DS17 was diagnosed 9 days ago when he was in DKA. After an ambulance ride and 4 days in the hospital, we were numb and are just in the last couple of days feeling like a fog is lifting. I completely relate to what you are going through. We have tried to just add to our existing menus. Adjusting portion sizes of carbs Which is hard since we are Italian and love our pasta. It's hard!! And the whole injection 40000 times a day is pissing us both off.....sorry. I know I'll be positive eventually. Each day gets a little easier and then we have a moody minute. We will figure it out but it's a lot. So you're not alone!
  4. Just saw it two weeks ago! We LOVE Hamilton and I was worried about it not being the original cast, but it was AMAZING PHENOMENAL! WISH I COULD GO AGAIN. lol. We had nose bleed seats for $100 and now I have no money for fun for quite a while but it was totally worth it. ETA: considering how white theater has been for.ev.er....I'm totally fine with the casting. Didn't throw me in any way. Signed...a middle class mature white woman, but I'm from California so I'm probably just crazy. â¤ï¸
  5. This will sound totally stupid, but after my second kid was born, and I was struggling with a colicky newborn, I gave my then 2 year old a huge bowl of flour, several bowls and measuring cups and water. She was a mess, the floor and table was a mess, but she was quiet and entertained for 2 hours!!! It was that or I was going to cry uncontrollably. LOL! Oh....such a great memory. Now that those kids are young adults.
  6. I would. My kids know I'm fine with piercings, tattoos and colored hair...Don't care. I have advised them to think long and hard about tattoos. Especially content and location. Bodies change an awful lot over 70 years. LOL!! I'm pretty plain and don't have any of these but I'm not against them. I am even considering a tattoo for my 50th. The extended family, though, are apoplectic and think I'm a terrible mom. Oh well.
  7. i voted "bananas" only because if she sold the other house would it bring her current mortgage down to a more manageable time of pay off. Since she seems to be handling it well now, maybe it'll cut down the duration enough. Seems a shame to leave such a loved house and neighborhood.
  8. I have a whirlpool range with double oven. The bottom is full size - fits my 24lb thanksgiving turkey and the top fits my largest 4qt casserole dish with room to spare. It has 1 large burner, 2 normal size and one small for my espresso pot. I love love love it. It's a whirlpool wgg555sobs. Though that is a Costco number so may not be the same number in other stores. I don't know how to load a pic but it is stainless with black burner top. Easy to clean easy to learn. I have had it a little over a year and use it constantly. Can't say enough about it. Got it as a set with the matching microwave which I also love. Good luck with the remodel. They are terrible. But we survived and I love the results. So happy with it all that I kind of enjoy cleaning it. Sort of ...😜
  9. Both sides of our family are like that.....but I wish they weren't. I am a church musician so all those holidays are work days for me. I would love to celebrate the day without being exhausted and either being late or having to run out early. It stinks. But this is not a battle I will ever win. So I do the best that I can. We established early on a designated time for my nuclear family to celebrate alone. That's my priority. And then we go for the big traditional extended family thing It works out well enough. My kids are growing up. We will see how grandparents handle grandkids not spending holidays with us. That'll be fun to watch Haha
  10. I don't see why this would be a problem. A diploma isn't really a document he will ever use. If he's going to college they will want a transcript not the actual diploma. At least that's what I've experienced. congrats on graduating!!!
  11. I consider people white trash when I meet them and they demonstrate trashy behavior! That being said in my house I sometimes demonstrate trashy behavior. Haha.
  12. My daughter is graduating this year so she to will be done with the nutcracker. We've been doing it since she was 5! We are all thrilled that this is it. We would ALL like to enjoy the holiday season without endless rehearsals etc. maybe someday I will mourn it but not anytime soon. Ha ha ha.
  13. My daughter has one and the glass has broken twice. It's all in the protective case. I've had one for years and never broken the glass and have dropped it way to many times to count. Sigh.... I have a wrap around type case - not an otter box.. A cheap version. My husband has an otter box and has never broken glass. Also dropped. We are clumsy people 😜 My daughter has a small cute plastic case. Obviously not protective. She's dropped it twice and broken twice. She will be paying this time to replace the glass and we will get her a better case.. We are a Mac people and share iTunes etc. one of my kids first thought he wanted something besides iPhone but has changed his mind. It makes it easier to share in our family etc. just my cheap 2cents. Edited to add.....also I hubby and I have screen protectors. Dd doesn't s
  14. I wouldn't go. But I'm getting older and I look forward to time with my immediate family and then extended family that is free of unnecessary stress. Not that we don't annoy each other but you know what I mean. Life is short. Our children grow up fast and things will change. Is there a way to speak with the estranged sister ahead of final plans being set. Is she even open to reconciliation? Or would it be a whole lot of stress for your family and everyone involved without the beginnings of healing. I'm all for working on relationships with people but it takes both to be involved in the process. I'd rather just stay home. :).
  15. I have systems and my blood work was totally normal. Sigh!! My hot flashes come and go. I haven't technically skipped a month yet but they are all over the place. Never more than 28 days between but sometimes 28, sometimes 14. You get the picture. My symptoms are hard to tie to anything. Though sometimes it seems to tie to an evening I have 2 glasses of wine, but I'm not willing to give that up. Lol
