  1. I would love to know is there an advantage to doing the blue or the light blue MM series?
  2. I love this thread! It is so helpful! I am working with my almost 5 year old on the phonograms. She has 15 more to learn. For the written drill we review all the phonograms at least once daily. Is that correct? (We are doing oral and dictation daily). Even after reading the manual 3 times I am still not completely confident in my ability to teach this method.
  3. Thank you all so much. I cannot tell you what a help and encouragement you all were!
  4. Would I be able to use MUS Manipulatives with the Education Unboxed videos online? Or do I need to get some C-Rods?
  5. Are there a lot changes between the older First Language Lessons Level 1 & 2 that was originally written as a single guide and the new edition that has separated them?
  6. We are currently working on MM1, WRTR, McGuffey Reader 1, scripture memory, I read a loud and piano lessons. Just doing all this with one child takes me ALL morning. Am I doing something wrong? I have no idea how I will be able to teach three children. My dc are 5, 3, and 1. I know while my children are young they will need more direction and teaching, but what are good curriculums I should be considering for the future that my children can work on independently or I can teach them together? Simple/ minimalist are important to me. I hope this makes sense.
  7. I cannot decide between buying MUS blocks and C-rods? What is your favorite and why? :-) Should I just buy both?
  8. My 4 year old just finished 100ez and we LOVED it! About a month ago we started WRTR and McGuffey Reader #1. She is doing great with both. I think that 100ez laid a great foundation. I bought AAS 1 and it was way too easy for her.
  9. I just started MM with my 5 year old and we love it. Should I get some manipulatives? We have just been using things around the house to count and understand concepts. I saw the Alpha Math U See video on how to solve for an unkown using manipulatives and I thought it made so much sense. Would using "real" manipulatives help her understand concepts better? I hope this is not a dumb question. This is all so new to me. I want to lay a solid foundation for her in math.
  10. My child is four and almost done with 100 easy lessons. I am wondering what I should do now? She reads BOB books and other simple readers too. I don't want to push her because she is young, but she tries to read anything and everything. I was thinking Apples and Pears or All About Spelling? Is it too soon to do those?
