  1. I love that you are doing the soft start. Wouldn't it be great if we could have playtime built in for the children. I taught inner-city second grade in the 90's and was able to get a discarded kitchen set for my class; they loved it.
  2. Reading Rainbow for sure. Another vote for Magic Schoolbus. National Geographic kids. But I would also get some games, legos, puzzles, a little dollhouse, cars, a marble run, etc.. and let them play.
  3. I watched it in utter horror! My oldest started walking at 7 months. He had so many bruises and cuts. Luckily, we moved across the street from a peditrician in our practice, and she could state that my son was very active and always running and climbing.
  4. You can always resell them. Can you share a link?
  5. This is the best for me. I don't like to count my laps. I love my Apple Watch, and it motivates me. We got one for my mom, who has a-fib; her doctor checks her her stats. You can turn off anything that bugs you.
  6. I need a pair of running shoes. But I should probably try them on first. I am terrrible about returning stuff. I got my son two pairs of athletic shorts for $10! But not much else that is exciting.
  7. I have about 6 - 8 migraine days every month. I teach part-time at a hybrid school. I can push through the bad times since I know I will be home in a few hours. I work all summer long so I can cruise through the year; I create every Powerpoint, every quiz, test, video, etc.. I also tutor a lot online or in my homee. I cannot go into Walmart or any store that has flickering lights. My students also know that the overhead lights are never turned on in my room; I have enough natural daylight and bring Christmas light to put on their tables. What are your skills? You mentioned TPT sales. Are you a teacher or more of a graphic designer?
  8. The lake house seems like a better idea. You will probably get several phone calls from your realtor which would be hard to do on a ride at Disney.
  9. Some kids with dyslexia and ADD have a hard time writing the notes for DO's class. Or worse they write the wrong thing. My son tutors a lot of DO's classes in the Atlanta area and is stunned by how many kids have notebooks (which is really is their textbook) that is not usable because the kids have not taken notes or have written down the wrong information.
  10. I love HGTV - House Hunters is the best way for me to fall asleep.
  11. Most home buyers make up their mind if they like your house in the first 10 seconds. Make sure the front door, where they spend a lot of time while the realtor tries to get the door open, is pristine with a fresh coat of paint if needed, beautiful potted plants, a new welcome mat, and a nice wreath. Then the foyer where they step in needs to be lovely - fresh flowers, a clean scent, and plenty of light - clean your windows and light bulbs, and put in bright but soft lighting. Do you have a lamp and table by your front entry - put a bowl there with a set of keys in it and if possible, a picture of your house covered in snow. I believe in staging a house - but not spending or wasting money. I have staged several homes for friends just using their own furniture and gettting rid of 1/3 to 1/2 of all things in a house. I only 'made' them buy new bedspreads or duvet covers and pillows if theirs were dirty and worn. I like to stage by drawing attention to the amazing features. I put a pitcher of lemonade and glasses on a tray on the back deck table. For a night showing, I put floating candles in the hot tub and turned on the lights by the fire pit, etc...
  12. I joined 'secrets from a housekeeper' group on Facebook and have learned that apparently Dawn dishsoap fixes about every dirty problem. It seems like for every problem involves: Dawn, vinegar, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide.
  13. My favorite one of these is not my own story, but a good friend's story. As a young child she lived in the Congo until she was 8. She made a good friend while living there, but never saw nor spoke to her again. As she was moving into her freshman dorm, that same childhood friend was moving into the room next door!
  14. put it on the market for a week or ten days and see what happens
  15. We did a Norwegian Cruise. Sometimes lunch was part of the excursion so they accommodated my allergies. But, I always ate a breakfast so a salad or an apple for lunch was enough.
  16. Maybe not the solution you were looking for - we took a cruise to the Greek Islands last year, and I was stunned with how great they were accommodating my allergies. I am allergic to wheat, dairy, rice, nightshades.... so traveling is just difficult for me. I met with an allergist specialist and planned my meals for the next day.
  17. Flocked trees are so messy, but they are so pretty and do not need a lot of decor. I would get a flocked tree prelit as putting lights in will make a giant mess.
  18. I would let it be my dining room. Yes, you will have to walk around the table, but, if you can make the table smaller (take leaves out) that might work. I say formal dining room, because then you could use that room still to have quiet conversations in, etc.. If you have already a formal dining room, could that be more easily transformed into a playroom or workout room?
  19. If you are feeling unsafe, here is my go to advice: I am sure you already know about security cameras, etc.. However, I think having fake security cameras has kept my dd's car safe many times when others on her street were broken into. The deal with the real cameras is that they are so small that they don't seem to be a determent. We added three fake cameras that are kind of large and blink red. We also added flood lights that are triggered by motion. So get the real cameras and the fake ones, too. And the fake cameras are super cheap😊 (she lives off a busy street in a vibrant downtown area where car break-ins are common; in fact they are told to not lock the car doors and keep NOTHING in the car)
  20. That is on you. We have replaced so many rotting boards on our deck.
  21. We are planning my dd's wedding for next year - new dream job- a florist or just looking at flowers all day
  22. Jane Erye is my favorite book. I can't wait to watch these😊
  23. pool dining room - if there is enough space for a big table somewhere else.
  24. OMG! We had a stair basket just for this purpose... I was so passive-agressive and let stuff pile up in it - nobody noticed. at. all. the Holderness family is the best. I loved watching them on the Amazing Race!
  25. One year we went to the beach for a week. Each family member had kitchen duty for the whole -planned all the meals, put the ingredients on the shopping list, shopped as a family, made the food, cleaned up. The last day was leftovers. Best vacation ever! I know you are not asking about vacation, but having someone plan and cook and clean was the best!
