  1. Haha! I never had an AG doll and I'm not resentful. :tongue_smilie: AG didn't even exist in my world, as far as I knew. So, I never wanted one.
  2. Gas is my preference, always. Wood creates mess and triggers allergies in 3 people in my home. As for not having power, we've always had the kind that worked even without power. Easy peasy to light and then we have heat and some light if the power goes out.
  3. I just asked my 5th grader and he spelled it with no problems. Although, he did not know the meaning of the word until I told him.

The best tool I've found for grinding flax seed is a coffee grinder. You can usually find simple ones like this http://www.amazon.com/Capresso-Grind-Coffee-Grinder-Black/dp/B00004SU1Z/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1357348985&sr=8-3&keywords=capresso+grinder for a reasonable price. HTH!
  5. We have Miele and I love, love it! We've owned several different brands through the years, including Bosch, but the Mieles have been my favorites. They are so quiet when running that someone can stand in my kitchen talking to me and not even realize they are on. They usually notice the little red light and then ask in astonishment if they are indeed running. The model we have has a vent feature at the end of the cycle. This pops the door open slightly and allows any residual moisture to escape.
  6. I have to agree with you. It is very heartening to see the number of men protesting these crimes alongside the women.
  7. Other. We didn't make anything this year with refined sugar or grains. All goodies that were made were eaten very quickly. So, no leftovers for me. What ever will I do for breakfast? ;)
  8. Yes!!! I love, love, love mine and like CupOCoffee said, you will find so many uses for one when you have it. I also have a Brother P-touch. I don't know the exact model, but it's the one with the full keyboard. Although, mine is about 10 years old.
  9. There was an article about this recently: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/30/us/building-homes-for-modern-multigenerational-families.html?hpw&pagewanted=all&_r=2& I believe the developers name is in the article and you might be able to search their website for house plans.
  10. http://www.culturesforhealth.com/ is my favorite supply place for stuff like this. HTH!
  11. Let the post-holiday slump commence!

  12. Ecogirl gave great recommendations and Youtube reviews are very helpful when you are first buying a juicer. Also, there is a website with a comparison chart. Hmm, I forget the name but it might be Harvest Essentials. Take your time to choose one that will work for you and your family and you should be happy for a long time. Another book recommendation is this one http://www.amazon.co...56888241&sr=1-2 by Drew Canole.
  13. These are beautiful! Btw, I love the doll. Which one is it?
  14. Well said, Joanne. I don't see this as a time for debate. The horror of this tragedy is so overwhelming; mosty, I want to hug my children. I also want to extend my love and thoughts to all those involved.
  15. Knowing those areas of NC well, I would choose Durham. It's a great university town.

Stars? Cool! Is this like getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? :tongue_smilie:
  17. GF is a life saver for those of us with celiac disease. There are also plenty of people who are intolerant to gluten and going GF is beneficial to them. And I agree with Parrothead - most wheat as been tinkered with and is GM to the point that there seem to be more sensitivities than before. We also have a better check system in place with medical professionals who are more aware of celiac disease. Now, with that said, I can't see going GF just for the fun of it. It does seem to be in vogue right now. In some ways it's great because it has made the public more aware and there are more choices in the grocery stores. We've even found some great organic and GF options in a walmart while on the road in a very small town that didn't have a Whole Foods or equivalent shopping.
  18. Shhhh, let's just go with creepy. Then, I won't have to tell my kids when they're older the REAL reason mom didn't do the elf thing.....it's too much trouble and I would forget most nights. I can see it now: scrambling around in the early am, franticly searching for a spot to place it, decorating the scene while trying to sip coffee, and trying desperately to not spill coffee on myself or the newly staged scene.
  19. This sounds like something my DH would say.
  20. We don't do it. Call me a grinch or a hold out, but I find the elf watching our every move kind of creepy. I also find the whole idea too high maintenance and have no desire to bother with it. Our DS has a friend over tonight for a sleepover and the friend mentioned this. This must be something they do in their house because the friend goes on to tell my DS that if he leaves crackers and milk out tonight, the elf will show up in the morning. Oh well, we don't have gluten or dairy in the house. I guess that solves that issue. ;)
  21. One of the few episodes I saw showed the tater tot casserole. Gah! It was one of the grossest meals I've ever seen. I couldn't believe they really eat that stuff. :ack2:
  22. I would love some more buying options too. We're currently finding nickel free studs from Claires, but none of them have that groove that is so helpful in keeping the backs on. I can't begin to tell you how many earring backs we've lost.
