  1. Thanks, Negin. I'm planning to read more of her books. (insert "sucker for punishment" icon :tongue_smilie:).
  2. Last week I read: The Shallows. Interesting. My Kind of Crazy: Living in a Bipolar World. This was a free Kindle book. Very good. When Food is Love by Geneen Roth. This was a very hard and emotional read for me. I cried pretty much through the whole thing. Almost done reading The Lightning Thief and The Prayers of Agnes Sparrow. Both are light reads and ... cute. ;) ETA: Here's my Shelfari link if anyone interested.
  3. I want to go badly, but not sure if we could afford it right now. It sounds awesome! :(
  4. More energy, less "brain fog", less mood swings and afternoon energy crashes. I haven't had a migraine since I stopped eating wheat. Less joint pain. The changes were subtle for me and I didn't feel a huge difference until I slipped once - we were eating out and I couldn't resist breaded onion strings. An hour later I felt it. I was exhausted, bloated, it was miserable.
  5. I heard that one before.
  6. Ooh, sounds good! Have you tried Guar gum instead? I heard some people are using it instead xanthan. I have that book, but haven't tried anything yet. Thanks!
  7. I'll start! :D Pão de Queijo I bake those in mini muffin tins. Comes out delicious every time. Disappears quickly. ;) Your turn!
  8. Doing math in another room, with the door closed seemed to help my eight year old. No distractions + knowing that she's missing some interesting stuff going in the kitchen = work done quickly and correctly. ;)
  9. Finished "Traveling Mercies" by Anne Lamott. I just adored this book- very honest, quirky and hilarious. Made me laugh and cry at the same time. Definitely will be going into my top 3 of the year. Also I read "Love is a Verb" by Gary Chapman. It's a collection of love stories, very different ones too. Very sweet. It was a free Kindle book. Not sure what I'm going to read next. Too many choices. :D
  10. I bought a set 6 years ago. It still looks like new even though I use these pots and skillets every day. The bottom is nice and thick and distribute heat evenly. Very happy with Cuisinart.
  11. There would be a very long and loaded pause. And then, "And how are you today?" What an ass. :glare:
  12. Finished "What so amazing about grace" by Phillip Yancey. It was a hard read due to some things I'm going through now, but very thought provoking. Sometimes it's very hard to give and to receive grace. Started "Traveling Mercies" by Anne Lamott.
  13. That is crazy. 180 people? Praying for you and Adrian. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
  14. Not surprised at all, unfortunately. :glare: When I was is first grade, a girl in my class used to give bjs in a classroom closet to classmates and older kids.
