  1. Honestly? It really, really depends on the CF gym. It is adaptable for almost everyone, but you do need to be careful. It really pays to visit the gym, talk to trainers, and get an good look at the environment.
  2. I used to post here, but now I just lurk every now and then. But I just started following you on Pinterest, didn't I?!? It's a small, small world. :) I'm looking forward to meeting any and all WTM ladies. I'll be at the CiRCE booth, and I am bringing MY mom, so if you want to chat with a lady who has been homeschooling for almost 30 years (wow!!) be sure to come by the booth. She's pretty amazing.
  3. I'm pretty paleo, and for Christmas I would prefer to just eat that with regular, real sugar. :) Most people I know who eat paleo decide to make exceptions for holidays, and it is common to choose some sugar and dairy before gluten.
  4. I do agree with you, Bill, and the others in this camp. It is gym class, it is running laps and that is what they are supposed to be doing anyway. We all experience "unfair" things and this is such a far cry from hazing or anything else that is actually dangerous. It is just running! Sometimes you just have to take the lap.
  5. Praise God! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
  6. When you click on the stars to provide a rating, the single star is defined as "terrible." And not saying this to you, since I know you are the one-star rater, but I also think that the practice of low-starring these personal threads is tacky and mean.
  7. I am a paleo-zoner, so I eat meat, vegetables, fruit, and some nuts and seeds and I "block" each meal so I am eating protein, carbs and fats in balance. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is! It does end up being a low-calorie plan (that is what I need to work off the fat) but I don't actually count the calories. Because I "zone", I do watch the serving sizes and I can say that this has been very, very helpful. If you click on my blog you can see pics of a recent day's food. On the cheating...you should be ok with the very occasional, sensible cheat. My love for fruit is part of the reason that I won't do a no-carb plan. I need to work with something that I can live with for a very long time, convinced that I am healthier with it.
  8. Just a note that you can also enroll with a private satellite school program (they are not government funded and they take care of the very small amount of school paperwork for you.) They can also be an excellent way to connect quickly with local homeschoolers. Here are a few local private ISP's, but there are more too. http://www.tka.org/overview/programs.html http://www.pioneerfamilyacademy.com/
  9. I don't take this to mean that it is wrong to use a blanket, but that it is out of line for others to make a woman feel like she NEEDS a blanket. I don't see why it is ok for someone to walk up to a woman breastfeeding and ask her to use a blanket...
  10. Yes, I have done it. :001_huh: Sometimes I give up and mail it back, and sometimes I watch it. I don't know if it was ever really a great use of time to finish them. :tongue_smilie:
  11. Ouch! I understand you are passionate about this, but try to believe that many in the US are doing our bit as well... Believe it or not, some of us do think about the energy we use!
