It could also be part of the age too, mine just turned 10 and over the last year he has started to lose focus more also where before he would have good focus and parrot back everything that was said.

I go every 2-3 weeks. I would go more but my 3 & 4 year old make it a not so pleasant experience ;). When we lived in MO we could request as much as we want and stop at the drive thru window...miss those days. Here they will only hold an item if it is already checked out.

Combining is easier for me. I have run multiple guides with SL & HOD and overwhelmed myself, especially with the littles to take care of too :) last year we combined the oldest with HOD Preparing and it was great! I probably would of kept going but my 8 year old was not ready to move up to the next guide. This year we are starting MFW and I love it so far. We are doing Adv-1850 since we haven't done much American history. They suggest starting at ECC. One thing I love about this is there are the supplements for the older and younger kids. My amost 5 year old enjoys some of the stuff so she is just tagging along and then does her own reading and math program. Also with MFW they have book basket time so during this time you can have the kids pick out library books that are more grade appropriate. Truthfully when I have looked at the program it didn't appeal to me as much as some of the others, but. There are many big families that have used it and stuck with it for years so I figured trying it for a year couldn't hurt. :) I think though if I had an older child who wanted to do more independently(mine doesn't) and they were ready for HOD CTC or up I would go with that. I do love HOD programs :)

For us, I know you said you've already contacted someone, but behavioral therapy and she's on meds now too. For me I cope with coffee, late night bubble baths and I like to diffuse vetiver essential oils. When she's driving me crazy I can sniff it and it totally relaxes me ;)

I love the simplicity of books more like 100EZ lessons. I used it for my oldest. About half way through we jumped into Sonlight grade 1 readers, so never finished it. I use The Reading Lesson book now which is pretty similar and my kids love coloring the pictures as they go :)

I would not do LHFHG With a 3 year old. I would go ahead and jump into reading with maybe The reading lessons and you could try out Singapore math and then add in some extra books. I think you may find MFW may not be a perfect fit either. Its hard to get a perfect fit at that age :)

It's been a couple years but the ones I remember liking are, red sails to Capri, cricket in Times Square, captain nobody, sticks across the chimney, and encyclopedia brown. I really liked And the Word Came With Power too if you like a good missionary story :) A few I felt were a little drawn out like 21 balloons and white stallion, and we didn't finish a couple, and a few ds read on his own.

We switched to teaching textbooks, he doesn't love math, but he's not complaining like before :) he really wants to try Life of Fred again but I told him he has to finish TT5 first :)

We started school year round for a few years but the kids friends tend to stop by during breaks so we take longer breaks during the summer. I would prefer to stay year round :)

Morning sickness is a great time for independent learning :) my oldest is only in 5th, but he can do it all almost on his own if he needs to. We just focus on reading, writing and math and become creative with the other subjects. Audio books are great during this time. Truthfully I can't speak about high school but I changed curriculum up some when I've been too sick for a period of a time like time4learning and easypeasy and Robinson curriculum. Hopefully it won't be so bad this time around, and congratulations!!!

We've done SOS for LA and it was a bust here. Loved the idea but it seemed like constant quizzes and not enough learning. love teaching textbooks, we start it in 2nd grade once the kids have learned borrowing and carrying. You could also look into easypeasy, it's free and online. My preschooler loves using it. ive used it also a little for my 2nd and 4th grader as a backup when I had the last baby and it was ok, but they love learning together. There is also Time4learning which is a little cheaper and ok too. I used that with my 8 year old some when she was in K because she wanted to have some school on the computer. I don't know if you do minecraft but there are a few homeschool minecraft classes out there and each week you gets an assignment then also recreates what they learned. They have them for SOTW, and MOH for history and Apologia for science and magic school bus etc. classes for those are usually pretty cheap plus the text if there is one.
