  1. Good books curriculum from the great books academy.
  2. D can be emotionally taxing...lots of death in the different books I would wait if you can. Time alotment should be fine... you will also read poetry and have a bible portion if you use that part.
  3. I'm pretty sure that the effects of this could be pretty bad... wonder why they don't seem more concerned...
  4. My homeschool room is 10x12 ish with a solid wall on the twelve foot side where I have 5 billy bookcases with glass doors. Globes and other cute things on top. The wall opposite has 2 huge frames that I layered cream colored paper in to use as marker boards one hung slightly higher than the other. I have a love seat and rocker in front of the double window on the short side. And a six person table in the middle. Decor won't be done until next week. I can post pics then. Its super cute and everyone who sees it likes it.... I think you could do a lot with the space if you think more in terms of your lifestyle and kids versus a designer. Don't get me wrong I have pottery barn stuff all over my house but they don't have a clue about homeschool needs, Supplies, life lol.
  5. Do you have the catalog? There are rainbow colored pages in the back with how much time it will take for each core in it
  6. Omgoodness you have got me.... right down to your screen name! This is so me for three years lol... and now I am putting my trust in the curriculum for the year anyway... the stars must be aligned if we are all doing it though! I will be trusting Bookshark for History. Science & LA using AAS & Wordly wise &Typing without tears, Song school latin 2, composer study, artistic pursuits, logic, & half of Beautiful Feet Geography.....BUT I am having her apply TWTM method to her history studies since she is entering the logic stage...I even made a sheet for her to follow :)
  7. Hunter, thank you very much! I am coming to love your posts! I am in love with daily schedules and I sat there trying to figure out how to turn ambleside into that. I already own many of the books, I definitely need more. I am curious about their chat board. I am going to need to check that out. I also need to check out the faq page. I have many questions about it but I would have to take some time to see if I can figure them out before I ask.
  8. we have secularized sonlight and we get our bookshark order tomorrow. we are excited.
  9. Ok see I love what you are doing here but this is why I buy it done because your "simple" overwhelms me lol ;) you make it and I will buy it!
  10. Bright behind would use reteach books
  11. I have 5 billy on a wall and the three middle ones have glass doors:::: everyone who sees them loves them and so do I lol.... that said they are truely 31.5 inches wide.
  12. Thanks everyone! I think I will stick with Sonlight/Bookshark. I don't really want the slower pace I would actually speed it up for us. It was more of a booklist question. She loves the Sonlight books and I don't want her to dread reading. We have been drawn more to the older history & Science books that AO uses so before we dive into American History I wanted to make sure I had the most interesting spine as jumping point. I think I will slowly read Pilgrims Progress with her, add in a Shakespeare play and add in a few of the other classics from the AO lists. We already do Music & Art Appreciation & Nature Study.
  13. Has anyone used either one or both. I am deciding what I want to do for American History next year. I already own the Sonlight but I am wondering if the Ambleside Online would be more engaging or interesting. I am also wondering which would have more depth. opinions, thoughts, experiences...

  16. I love my nook tablet hd+...I actually didn't want an ipad even though hubby gave me the choice for my bday ...works like a champ
  17. Okay, I am getting ready to start one of these two programs. I know that according to TWTM the one by Classical Writing requires the parent to have a strong foundation in grammar and writing. I do know that I really like Song School Latin by CAP and I am interested in their programs. My question(s) is/are: Does anyone have experience they can share of using one or both? Are either of them strongly Christian based? I prefer secular. Is CAP scripted? (I am in the midst of looking at their samples now.) TIA.
