Thanks in advanced

Agree! And I was only referring to Zumdahl “Chemistry” text. (No experience with the World of… book.)
What did you do before Zumdahl Chemistry? Was this the only Chemistry curriculum you used with your kid(s)

Do you remember the exact title of the text? Are you sure it was "World of Chemistry" and not "Chemistry"? The latter is an into college text while the former is meant for high schools or non-science majors and shouldn't be as heavy with the math.
Thanks for answering. Well actually I have these 2 books at home. I wanted to start with World of Chemistry first . Do you think algebra 1 will be enough for these textbook?

You might want to edit your post and remove all those blank lines.
We used Zumdhal recently for chemistry with my son. I remember that there were a lot of exponents, logarithms, roots, solving system of equations and ln (natural logs) strewn around the chapters. Your student might require familiarity with those concepts and be able to solve problems using them comfortably in order to be successful. But, these concepts are not difficult and you can do a quick review if needed. (can also use calculators as AP Chem allows it).
Thanks I just edited the format .

Dear all
I have bought Zumdahl world of chemistry.
Which math background of algebra do we need to finish before starting on the Zumdahl books ? For math we are working on AoPs introduction Algebra.
Thanks in advanced

This is so strange. Where do they get their information? As if Germans are prissinors.
I also can't see the connection between a gas shortage and lockdowns.
We live in Belguim and I do believe that it can be though this winter in all Europe. But Germany the most. That's why the Europe Union wants that all the european countries help each other by sharing gas. But lockdowns, that's just silly.

Dear all
Last year I had a miscarriage followed with 2 operations. During this rough periode my oldest son had examens. So I helped him trough lt but during that time I had a lot of pain . I wasn't recovered yet from the operations.
So I didn't had time to recover and heal. Now I finally have vacation from homeschooling but I just don't know how to relax. There was a lot of pressure on me and I can't get rid of that feeling. I still can't get homeschooling out of my head and I still have the homeschooling deadline examens feeling. Even though my son passed his exams.
I just don't know how to relax 😕. Do you have any recommendations? Unfortunately we çant go on a holiday at this moment. But I am going to stop homeschooling this summer.
Thanks in advanced

You might want to take a look at Conceptual Physical Science Explorations.
Do you mean Hewitt's book ?

I could be wrong, but I think the recommendation is that you have completed Algebra before doing Chemistry.
Are you looking to have a class for high school credit at this point?
Have you considered/have you covered biology yet?
Yes we did biology . No I am not searching for q high school credit. Just having fun with chemistry and being prepared on Zumdahl

Dear all,
I bought Zumdahl Chemistry for a really good price. I really like the book but at this moment I want something light to get used to the Chemistry language and introduction to problem solving.
I was wondering which book can we do as preparation on Zumdahl's book?
My son is half way through intro Algebra AoPs . And he is still very young. He is 12 years old so we are not on a rush to start with the Zumdahl book.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for your reply. He doesn't take any medication yet. We still can't decide if we want to take them yet.

Dear all,
We have tested DS 11 years old and it seems that he is highly gifted with ADD.
We are homeschooling him because of this . My question for those parents with the same situation. Which curriculum do you recommend? He is highly gifted but at the same time his concentration is very low. When he is interested in something he can really concentrate and learn very deep. But otherwise it's a struggle.
Thanks in advanced,

Dear all,
Which online classes can you recommend for a gifted child ?
This year we hope to start with AoPs classes. But I was wondering if there were other classes for science and programming.
DS is 11 years old.
Thanks in advance

Dear all,
For those who followed an online class with Outschool with your kids. What was your experience with them ?
Was it a good learning experience ? And which classes did your kids follow.
Thanks in advance...

Dear all,
My daily routine is out of control. I was a long time sick . And I feel the routine and structure which we had before is disappeared.
So I would like to have some inspiration/advise. I was wondering how your daily routine as a mother looks like.
When do you wake up ? When do you start homeschooling , cleaning, cooking etc..
So please share your day routine .

Dear all,
DS is disappointed that he can't do a lot of electrical engineering . For a long time he showed a real interest in electrical engineering and wished that he can do something daily with it. He is also interested in programming.
Last year we did :
Little bits (which was to easy for him but he liked it)
Scratch (he outgrown it and needs something new)
Snap circuits ( he outgrown it quickly)
Lego wedo 2.0 (the programming part was to easy for him).
Mbot Makeblock (he quickly outgrown it)
He needs something which he can do daily and with more depth.
I hope to find some inspiration for this year. And something he can use for a longer time. DS is almost 10 years old.
Thanks in advanced....

Dear all,
Which sports / social activities are your children doing ? My sons are doing taekwondo and swimming but they still want to do more :)
My oldest son wants to do more with material arts but something different from taekwondo. Any recommendations ? My oldest sons are 9 and 8 years old.

What age? I have not found a science curriculum for middle school that I liked and that I found inspired curiosity and excitement. What I have seen was dry and had way too much focus on vocabulary.
Before high school, my kids read non fiction books, watched documentaries, did field trips to science museums and nature centers. When they reached high school age, they were ready for systematic study using college texts which are of vastly better quality than the school textbooks.
Both kids ended up majoring in physics.
They are 9 and 7 . We still have all the time of the world :) I was concerned that if we didn't do science in the elementary years my kids would be behind for a high school curriculum.
The science books are indeed dry but my boys need the vocabulary because English is there third language.

Link is to Nova ScienceNow webpage. I forgot if you are in Europe or US. If you can’t play the full videos, most are available on YouTube.
