  1. Where I live, rental houses do not come with a refrigerator. I worked for a property management company at one point and none of the houses came with refrigerators, I think owners did not want to be responsible for fixing it if it broke or leaked and damaged something. Apartments do, but not houses. Shower only in master is fine, when we had small kids a tub somewhere in the house was a must.
  2. I haven't looked at TGTB math, so I don't know if this is possible, but what about using Multiplication Facts that Stick to teach multiplication specifically by fact family. Would it be possible to leave out lessons specifically focused on teaching multiplication from TGTB but continue using it to teach other concepts?
  3. My DD enjoyed the Heimler's History videos on YouTube. He goes quickly in his videos so they are really just a review of key information, but they are interesting and entertaining. He does sell a course with worksheets and review which I did purchase for my DD, but I don't think she used much (because she was super busy last year).
  4. We like these Pentel pencils because they have a good weight to them: Pentel 0.7mm (P207-C) Blue P200 Series Automatic Mechanical Drafting Pencil Refillable Lead Eraser (Pack Of 6) https://a.co/d/4oXDGzn I bought these, (but haven't tried them yet), because they have longer erasers than the ones above: Pentel Twist-Erase III Mechanical Pencil, (0.7mm), Turquoise Barrel, 12 pack (QE517D2) https://a.co/d/dZrXHvG
  5. My DD was homeschooled until 8th grade and then went into all honors classes and high school has been all honors or AP classes. She likes it because she's with the same 75 or so kids out of the 500+ in her grade, so she gets to know people better. Also our non-honors/AP classes are really basic, worksheets, busy work, things like that drive DD nuts. She took AP Human Geo. as a freshman and it was her favorite class. Really the hardest part of high school for her is keeping up with all these classes while doing band as well. We had no idea it was a 20 hour a week commitment, but of course she loves band and won't drop it.
  6. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but we have used Noodle Tools. It has notecards and it also makes writing an annotated bibliography much easier, which is our main reason for using it. I believe we pay $15 for a one year license.
  7. I know this is not exactly what you asked for, but I love adding picture books to math lessons and my kids seem to really enjoy it too. I made this list of math picture books by topic. Maybe you will find it useful. And congratulations on your new job! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q1xOpuD3Ukh8rRRjcWSZ77uCewZxMSYHMa-8ppfHt7Y/edit?usp=drivesdk
  8. DH is a teacher, there was no summer school on Monday. No mail, banks closed, but the DMV was open, DD took her behind the wheel test that day.
  9. We pilot tested it, so obviously some changes have been made since then. My daughter really loved the games, activities and books incorporated into the curriculum. She came out of second grade with her addition and subtraction facts solid as well as a solid understanding of place value. One of my favorite parts of the curriculum is that there is daily review of previous concepts. We just finished pilot testing 3rd grade, and I am pleased with the progress my daughter has made. We hope to continue pilot testing through 6th.
  10. How fluent is she with her math facts? You could run through one or two of the Facts That Stick book by Kate Snow.
  11. I have a friend who is going through something very similar with Kaiser. She is a teacher and after reaching out to her benefits department, she found out that they had access to an advocate to help work with Kaiser as well as the option to have a second opinion outside of the Kaiser network. I'm not sure if anything like that would be available in your circumstance, but it might be worth looking into. If not I would try calling their customer service line.
  12. No personal experience yet, but have you read over this FAQ? Questions 25 & 26 seem to pertain to what you are asking. The way I read it, your school day does not have to be the same as the local school day.
  13. Picture books: Ten Flashing Fireflies, by Philemon Sturges One Odd Day, by Doris Fisher Less Than Zero (MathStart 3), by Stuart J. Murphy On Beyond a Million: An Amazing Math Journey, by David M. Schwartz Millions, Billions, & Trillions: Understanding Big Numbers, by David A. 14. Ugh, prices have gone up 30 cents since Monday, we are at $5.39 and need to fill up our Expedition. DH was waiting because he thought prices might go down, I told him just to do it now before prices go any higher.
  15. $5.04 cash/ $5.14 credit is the cheapest option near me today.

  18. Go to her website and sign up for her newsletter. I believe in May she will open spots for the pilot program.
  19. I think you can search for coupons or deals with Noom that will make it around $160 for the first year. A friend from church has been using Noom for about a year now and has lost about 45 lbs. She loves it, it's very motivational for her. She highly recommends it. She's in her mid 60s and started around 200 lbs.
  20. There are a few on your list I haven't listened to, but here are some of our favorites: The Mysterious Benedict Society (series) Where the Mountain Meets the Moon The Girl Who Drank the Moon Walk Two Moons (We seem to like moon books, haha!)
  21. I understand, I don't crochet either. Luckily I have a friend who does and taught DD the basics of reading patterns. She learned the stitches from watching YouTube videos. It seemed like once she figured out the basics, the rest came fairly easily. She also enjoys making these little felt stuffies: Klutz Sew Mini Treats Craft Kit, 8" Length x 1.5" Width x 9" Height https://smile.amazon.com/dp/0545906520/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_fabc_3R7ZPSMQQGXBNCZ9G671 DD is way craftier and more talented than I am at these things, but she also has the patience to figure them out.
  22. My crafty 12 year old DD is getting lots of precut fabric and this book (she got a sewing machine last Christmas) Sew It!: Make 17 Projects with Yummy Precut Fabric―Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, Charm Packs & Fat Quarters https://smile.amazon.com/dp/160705874X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_fabc_HTP7E5CB6WB6M0VEK05H as well as lots of yarn, safety eyes and this book Whimsical Stitches: A Modern Makers Book of Amigurumi Crochet Patterns https://smile.amazon.com/dp/1944515631/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_fabc_AKCMY3PTKH3Z2PG9RQQ7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 She's also getting a few Lego sets.
  23. Oh no, poor guy! I hope he will be feeling better soon. My DS had a kidney stone when he was 4, it took a while to diagnose because he was so young it wasn't something the doctors were looking for. He's 14 now and hasn't had one since. Hopefully this will be the one and only for your DS.
  24. I would add some wall mounted shelves or cubbies above each of your desks to utilize that wall space as well. Something like this: https://www.target.com/p/wall-mounted-desk-hutch-white-prepac/-/A-49131540?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000023621495&CPNG=PLA_Furniture%2BShopping_Brand_Competitor|Furniture_Ecomm_Home&adgroup=SC_Furniture&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=m&location=9031502&targetid=pla-297710415501&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1247068&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4b2MBhD2ARIsAIrcB-T6usWMLQDhWCaqVvNF_rzIv373kA1dx-jIi3vjFj3PQPgjlrJV0wYaAur2EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
