  1. Thank you for the information on RS. My daughter has been doing the French Levels I & II. She mainly works on her own, but I gave her two assignments to finish up her senior year, which would involve conjugating and writing sentences. She said she would not be able to complete them in French. I have to say I wish I had done some homework on this forum before we started. When I took two years of German, in high school, from a native speaker, the class learned to conjugate many sentences, read from literature in German and I could translate German when I got to Germany. I wouldn't say I could carry on a conversation, but what I was taught definitely made me more comfortable. I expected my daughter to be able to conjugate and translate much more than she is able to do. Very disappointing, but no I see it is my fault. I guess I had better let her off the hook with the Senior assignments. She has them all done in English, so maybe she could just translate the parts she knows.
  2. For what we needed, this was not a good option. They were priced very high to rent and we found we could to pretty well on Amazon or here on the For Sale forum. Maybe if we need to resell we can do even better. I know with some college texts, they change the edition often and you might get stuck not being able to resell. Good Luck!
  3. I have one son, who is doing college CLEP preparation at home. He has done really well gaining credits without the outside distractions of living outside the home. It works well for us because we live to far from any community college to commute daily.
  4. Do you know if the Homeschool Edition is suppose to come with a Student Study Guide for level 2? We have the set for Level 1 and 2, and there is a resource for each level except a Level 2 student study guide. Thanks KR
  5. Do you know about College Plus? I could send you a brochure. That's what two of my kids are doing.
  6. I don't think this will solve all your art paper problems, but when the kids were younger someone suggested cutting out two large pieces of cardboard (3X3 or 4X3) and taping them together on three sides with some type of wide tape. We used wide masking tape and it has held up for years. The kids decorated the outside with markers. They love to personalize them.
  7. I liked what you said. It is just common courtesy, and should be common sense, too.
  8. I still believe in first impressions. Great for life skills and will set them apart when they are ready to go looking for a job, which often isn't that far down the road. A child about 10-12 years should know how to greet an adult, answer the phone, etc. Perhaps look up your local National League of Junior Cotillions. http://www.nljc.com/ There are chapters all over the US. Author Emilie Barnes also has girls and Boys books on manners. Nice for gifts.
  9. Sweet Hour of Prayer Good words/thouugts in all verses. There are so many with good doctrine.
  10. I agree with Jean in Newcastle. When you think of all the demands on a pastor on Sunday morning its no wonder they do as well as they do. Yes, invite the family over during the week. They wife might be pleased that she doesn't have to cook a meal. Yes, don't ask deep theological questions. Let them know ahead it is just to get to know them better.:001_smile:
