I have no idea what I've been doing. Oh yeah..... budget stuff, rearranging our schedule, getting DH an appt. for his athletic physical at his new high school and doing all the paperwork for that (they are offering physicals on Saturday for $20, which is cheaper than going to the doctor), making lunch, making lemonade for the girls and their little friend (from powdered mix, sorry Martha), and.... oh yeah, I chatted for half an hour with a girlfriend who moved to N. Carolina a couple years ago.

So, there seriously has not been a new post in 2 hours?? Am I not seeing things correctly?

I'm feeling extraordinary lazy. But.... I have work to do. Budgeting, school stuff, phone calls to make (I hate hate hate making phone calls, but these are absolutely necessary) and some laundry. The kids have scattered and are doing their own thing, so....it's a pretty good morning.

I made a dozen muffins. They are all gone. I am so glad I didn't put a lot of time and effort into them. Just opened up 2 boxes of Jiffy blueberry muffins, added milk and eggs and baked. Martha Stewart would be so proud. Oh, and I had cottage cheese for breakfast. But I figured out how to make it good. I out 1/4 c fresh blueberries and 1/2 c sliced up strawberries. And it already had chopped up almonds and a dash of cimmanom. It adds carbs, a few of them, at least, but it makes it so yummy it's worth it,

I need to write these down. My iPad has terrible emojis.

It is now on my watch list. Woohoo!!

So, after ketchupping I'm thinking Poldark is something I'm going to have to check out.

I am a wimp. I just let the kittens in. We are not an indoor animal family, but we give kittens certain lee-way. And it doesn't help when they sit outside the screen door meowing plaintively. DH just left. Don't tell anyone I let them in. ☺ï¸

Ok, for some reason I can't edit my other post. But I wanted to add, for me, summer is about rest and regrouping. I am beat during the school year and I need this time in the morning during the summer or vacation time to really just rest. It doesn't happen during the day. I cannot get away from the constant interruptions and bickering and all that, so for me, letting the kids sleep a little longer than I prefer is my way of taking care of me. I can pray as long as I want to, and not have to worry about getting a kid up and to school on time. Evenings don't work for me because DH wants some attention, and he should get some. So, anyhow, that's my take on it.

Ok, listen. They are getting up waaaaaaaay too early. It's summer. You can get up at 7:00. I get up at 6:30. My kids don't get up till like 8:30 or 9:00. That gives me about 2 hours to drink a couple cups of COFFEE☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸, ITT for a while, do my devotions and generally have some quiet.

Lol!! This year the kids are doing Apologia - Land Animals, so that came. It looks great. I am excited to start that up. I have been struggling with DS as an 8th grader. He'll be doing the Apologia with us, too. I really would like him to do something a little more at grade level, but.... he really struggles working independently. I am trying very hard to work with him where he's at and not where I'd like him to be. We use Spelling Workout for Spelling, though I think DS, as an 8th grader will start Wordlywise and do vocabulary instead of spelling from now on. So those came. And DS is doing American history this year, so I ordered him Nottgrass - America the Beautiful and it looks really good, too. That was all that was in the box. Oh, yeah, there was the packing slip and those popping things. That was fun!!

Well, of course. But who doesn't appreciate some yumminess from afar.

I need some COFFEE!!!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ I went through my box and am happy with what I got. I did my hour of sewing on my quilt. Now to do some Latin!!

If you give me a mess, at least this summer, I will pretend I don't see it and hide out in my bedroom all afternoon!!
