  1. We are back from our Sunday School class party. It was a lot of fun. We've been pretty lonely for a long time and it feels good to be part of a group of people who like us and we feel comfortable with. The kids swam and then we had a big baseball game (everyone played - moms, dads and even little kids) and then had pizza. My dessert turned out all right. I got the recipe from FB. It was just terribly sweet and I hate desserts that are too sweet. Oh, and then we had a fireworks show.
  2. You are so awesome, Susan!! I love that you do stuff like that. Bernstein is truly amazing. As was the ending to that piece. Tchaikovsky is one of my favorite composers. His music is so passionate.
  3. I love this!!💕💕The name of your book shall be, "The Quotable Critterfixer"!
  4. Ok, I made a huge bowl of salsa, tried a new recipe for dessert bars and frosted my star cookies. Now I can rest for an hour before we leave for the BBQ and bring all that food with us.
  5. Can we please not put the word cheese in quotation marks?? Seeing it like this....."cheese" ...... is making me twitch.
  6. the last time I had a cup of coffee was 4 hours ago. I need another one. Right now.
  7. I went out and picked some tomatoes. My biggest stainless steel mixing bowl is overflowing. I guess I will bring a big bowl of salsa to the BBQ tonight, too.
  8. Aaaack, educational post. Where's my safe space???? I go with Susan's answer.
  9. I was living my life quite happily until someone brought it up here and I got intrigued. It's a PBS Masterpiece Theater Period Drama about this guy who fought in the Rev. War for the Brits and then comes home to Cornwall and tries to put his life back together after he finds out his father dies and his ancestral home (such as it is, dad was the younger brother,so he inherited a broken down farm and some old mines) is in shambles, He's handsome and brooding there's always this scene with him riding his horse like a bag out of he11 on the cliffs of Cornwall. And there's unrequited love and evil rich people, but of course Poldark is kind and compassionate and collects the down and out like stray puppies... And I'm barely through the second episode.
  10. Good Morning!!!! COFFEE!!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ Sunday!!ðŸ‘ðŸ‘💒💒💒
  11. It's time for bed. Gotta get up for the early service tomorrow!! Sweet dreams, my lovelies!!
  12. I enjoy a good period drama now and then. Especially when the main character is incredibly hot.
  13. I watched a bit of Poldark myself, Susan. Though I'm only on episode 2.
  14. I'm sorry you're grumpy!! Poldark will definitely chase away the blues. Those eyes......sigh!ðŸ˜
  15. pretty much everything. I loved all the things. I loved walking through the show room. So did DD. I wanted my house to look like everything I saw there. I did find something fun, though, that I bought. Tea lights that last for 9 hours. I love tea lights. In the winter time, especially, I'll line up a whole bunch on my fireplace mantle and light them all. It makes such a cozy glow, but without a waxy mess at the end. These are bigger than the usual ones, so they'll last all day.
  16. I'm back. I IKEAed. It was wonderful. I love that store. I got what I went for and then some. Six hours of driving really did me in. I hate driving. By the time I got home both sides of my face were sore from clenching my jaw the whole time. And traffic wasn't even bad at all. Freeway driving the whole time. I only made one wrong turn.... wanted to go to In'n Out and got on the freeway instead. But, we got a gander at the Mighty Sacramento River before we found a place to turn around. And I loaded up the drones with all y'all's stuff. Should be arriving shortly.
  17. Good Morning!!! COFFEE!!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ Saturday!!!ðŸ‘👠IKEA trip!! (We obviously didn't go last Saturday, but we're going today!!! I'm taking oldest DD and DS2 with me. Should be a fun trip) DD found all my Starbucks gift cards and has planned for multiple stops. She obviously takes after her mother. I don't know why I have so many Starbucks cards accumulated. Well, I guess I know. I hate the place. Over-priced and I don't go for trendy, even with a gift card.
  18. We've done Apologia for the past couple years and I've used it with all my kids. Last year we finished Swimming Things earlier in the year than I wanted and since someone had given me Science in the Beginning we went through that for the last 2 months of school. I think they liked the Apologia better. And I think the reason is that Apologia has those nice notebooks and the kids enjoyed working with that, we had to do our own notebook with Science in the Beginning (although I see they have notebooks pages you can download). I think, also, my kids enjoy learning about biology.
  19. Well....yeah!! Generally, I try to ignore the fact that my actor crushes are real people because most of the time I don't like who they are as real people!
  20. Bambi was my first theater movie. When it came out in 1975. Then I saw Star Wars in the theater in 1977 and commenced my 40 year long love affair with Harrison Ford.
  21. We have a plum branch on our fruit salad tree. Yummy Santa Rosa plums. Tart skin, but sweet sweet sweet flesh.
