  1. We're back, we saw Cars 3. I slept through it. Literally. Well, not the entire time, but a portion of it. It was inane. No clever dialogue, boring plot. Ugh!!
  2. Yay, the mail came. I got two books for art. Warning: educational post Reported If this post makes you feel faint or uncomfortable in any way, please make your way to the nearest safe place and sit with your head between your knees until the feeling passes. So, if anyone is looking for good artist books, I have found a good series called Art for Children by Ernest Raboff. They're fairly short (but not too short) and have plenty of full page examples of the artist's work. The one that came in the mail today is about Leonardo. I also got a Mike Venezia book about Botticelli. His books crack me up. I like them, although somehow I find the Raboff books more appealing.
  3. I use any kind of fruit. My favorite is putting a pineapple core and some fresh strawberries in a pitcher, putting in a little stevia, filling the pitcher with water and letting it sit several hours in the fridge. The key to infusions is letting them sit. Citrus works well, too. I also like to take mint leaves and steep them in boiling water like you would tea, adding stevia and then putting that in a pitcher of water. It's like chewing mint gum. Yummy!
  4. My kids like quesadillas. I keep mini-pizza crusts in the freezer (make a bunch on Saturday and freeze) and we'll have pizzas once a week. And we have sandwiches, too. Since I am trying hard to be low-carb I eat lots of salads. Today I quartered a beautiful vine ripened tomatoe, put salt, pepper and a little Italian dressing on it and then plopped some chicken salad in the middle of it. It's yummy.
  5. This morning DS had an optometrist appointment. He has new prescription. He can't hardly see anything of his right eye. I am so glad when he got glasses last summer they made a noticeable difference to him because I've never had to nag him about wearing his glasses. This afternoon we're going to the movies. We go to the movies 3x a year. Easter Vacation, summer vacation and Christmas vacation. We're either gonna see Cars 3 or Despicable Me 3. They both start at the same time.
  6. Competency is always a good trait to have if you're a doctor.
  7. I love them, too!!! They grow well in our climate but I always forget to plant them. My Grandma used to have a ton of them and she'd pick huge bouquets. My Grandma loved flowers. Hmm, she was an artist, too.
  8. ((Paige)). " I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies", (since although I have five, I birthed none of them), so I have no been-there-done-that encouragement for you. I'll be thinking about you, though!!
  9. Good Morning!!!! COFFEE!!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ Wednesday!!!👠Not quite so hot!!!😄
  10. Hmm, zombie apocalypse or Santa. I watched a Christmas movie the other day on Amazon. Because I do that sometimes.
  11. Yay for 11 yo and 18 yo. Hugs for 14 yo. Anxiously awaiting news of the audition!!
  12. Woohoo for successful swim lessons!!!! And her remark was just precious!!! It's a good thing!
  13. I never buy books from random people wandering around my neighborhood. The only thing I buy door-to-door is candy from the neighbor kids for fund raisers.
  14. I'm having lunch and reading the obituaries. I love reading the obituaries. I mad this baked avocado egg thingie I found floating around FB. It's ok. It's a nice change from all the salads I've been eating. And it's perfectly low carb. And it has bacon and cheese, and avocado, which I love.... But it's still kind of.... meh. It's rich, with all the avocado. Too much of a good thing maybe. I don't know.
  15. Put them in paper bags, give them to your kids and have them go play ding-ding-ditch to your neighbors and leave the cucumbers on their front porches.😜
  16. I'll take one of those, too! Maybe the pumpkin will make me think it is fall and I will cool off a little.
  17. And we'll have a gala grand opening where we all dress up in fancy clothes and the staff carry around big trays of champagne and hors d'oeuvres.
  18. I kind of got used to it after we'd been there a day or two (we were only there for the weekend, drove al that way for a weekend😩), but it was rather shocking at first. I really liked the fireflies. We don't have fireflies anywhere in California and I just loved seeing them.
  19. More COFFEE!!! â˜•ï¸ â˜•ï¸ and ☕ï¸!!
  20. I think the ITT island needs a gallery for your work. We will hire Weston as curator.
  21. My first encounter with cicadas was 10 years ago when we went to Kansas for DH's family reunion. We had just gotten to the retreat center where the reunion was, it was in the country with a lot of tall trees and we got out of the car after a long day driving and about got knocked over by the humidity and this horrible buzzing sound. I will never forget that.
  22. Happy Birthday, Ellie!!!! May you have a wild and wonderful day!!!🎉👑👑🎈🎈ðŸ°
  23. Who knows anymore?? DS has gotten texts from his guy friends after 11:00pm. My BIL had to turn his router off at 10:00pm every night because he found out his daughter (who's in college now) was texting and basically up to all hours on her devices. On school nights.
  24. We'll give you some of these ours. We have plenty. Which fire do you want it from?
