    I have a preteen, so it may or may not get worse...but I IGNORE. If he is being rude, I tell him he can go to his room and come back to join us when he has a better attitude.

    We do about 5 hour days with my 4th grader. But we only school 4 days a week. :) Our Tuesdays are karate/gym/library/out to lunch so we rarely school on those days.

    I wanted to do one, but the one by me started at 8 am. And our brains DO NOT function that early lol..We have so many other extra curriculars going on, we are sklpping it for this year. We will re-evaluate next year.

    Do you let your kids take a break when they want or is there a scheduled time for breaks?

    My 9 year old has a phone and has had it for about 2 years. He got it when he first started spending the night with grandparents and/or friends. He also takes it when him a his friends ride bikes or play in the field behind our house. He is NOT a phone person, so he hardly uses it. He does have an alarm set on it to remind him to brush his teeth lol.

    We use Saxon for the 4th grader, and math is the most boring subject for him... My middle son (horizons)LOVES it though!

    We use Saxon 5/4 and we do 2 lessons per day, 4 days a week. It varies on how long that takes, usually about an hour per day.

    My kids love cursive! They have learned cursive 2nd though. I think you should just continue with manuscript, then do cursive next :)

    We have an iPad2, kindle fire, and htc flyer and I wish we just had 3 kindle fires. I LOVE it! Super durable too (iPad has broke 2 times already)

    Makes total since! Thanks for all of the advice and guidance! I actually hate Saxon, so I'm thinking of switching both Math curriculum eventually.

    I know, everyone thinks their kid is the smartest, lol, but my middle son is 6. He is bored to death with 1st grade math and spelling (math mostly) We use Horizons because I heard that it was a little more challenging than others, but he is wanting to just do Saxon 5/4 with his 9 year old brother. He already 'gets' the pre-algebra stuff and if I quiz him he gets every question right, and can show his work. WWYD?

    I am so glad others advice helped! We are very laid back here..I dont even have a LA curriculum...We do use BLU spelling, but that's it :P Did I miss your kiddos age?
