  1. We will be moving to the Wesley Chapel area in a month or two. Would you know of any groups that do field trips/social activities for teens? Drama club? Engineering/Science/Math clubs? Thanks so much, Lisa
  2. He is at camp this week. Maybe that is why he is not able to respond as quickly as usual. I have had only good experiences with LA, including receiving a refund when we changed our minds about a course. Also, my daughter is attending camp this week. She says, "It's the best camp ever!!!" We've already signed up for next year.
  3. If you have followed the schedule fairly closely, how have you/will you award credits? I am considering this for high school and am wondering what I'd need to add for electives, etc. Thanks, Lisa
  4. Or any other 'healthy' baked goods made with whole wheat? Thanks, Lisa
  5. Where do you buy your wheat (hard white/soft white)? And how much do you pay? Thanks so much, Lisa
  6. I'm wondering what you've liked or disliked. I would probably only buy the Guides from Winter Promise as it seems customer service might be an issue with buying complete packages. I'm wanting to combine my 6th and 8th graders for American Culture combined with BJU's American Republic (2nd half). My 6th grader would do the JJJ combined with Secrets of the Universe. They are wanting more activities, and I am wanting more togetherness. Thanks, Lisa
  7. Kfamily - What guides are you using? We will be doing year 8 next year. Thanks, Lisa
  8. This is an information sheet I made for my doctor. He now hands it out to his other patients. The pecan bread site might be especially helpful. ____ Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)(totally grain free, gluten free, sugar free, and lactose free) The main website/book with the science behind the diet (or why/how the diet works): Breaking the Vicious Cycle, Gottschall http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/index.htm this website includes a very specific/long list of legal/illegal foods Other websites (many with recipes): http://nomorecrohns.com/ (recipes and a newsletter you can purchase) http://www.pecanbread.com/new/home1.html (explains introduction diet and stages – helpful when starting the diet! It also includes information about probiotics and other supplements.) http://www.ccccibs.com/ http://www.scdiet.org/2recipes/indexa.html http://www.scdrecipe.com/cat_allrecipes.html A place to buy supplies: http://www.digestivewellness.com/ (like blanched almond flour) There is even a Yahoo support group for people with Celiacs, Colitis, Crohn’s, and IBS who are trying to follow this diet (SCDinfo). And very beautiful and inspiring cookbooks with only SCD recipes: Cooking for Celiacs, Colitis, Crohn’s, and IBS – Healing Foods, Ramacher Everyday Grain-Free Gourmet, Badger and Lass Grain-Free Gourmet, Badger and Lass Recipes for the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, Prasad
  9. Thanks! Can I have it go to certain days? Like only Monday and Wednesday? Lisa
  10. Is there a way to have it figure out how many pages to read/do per day if you tell it how many days per week, how many weeks, and how many pages there are in the book? And then have it schedule those pages? This is what I really wanted to be able to do, but could never figure out. Thanks, Lisa
