  1. I'm thinking about getting the Draw Write Now books. For those who have used them, how many in the series did you go through in a school year? I want to get enough to last us the year. Thanks!
  2. Just what I was looking for! Thanks for explaining that!:)
  3. Thank you for that! So, all 3 of my kids couldn't use it? Is it online? Are only one of them allowed to use it? Just trying to understand since I've never used HSBC or dreambox before:)
  4. So, do you have to buy more than one subscription if you have more than one child? That's what it seemed to be when I looked on the HSBC site. Also, what grades/age range does it cover?
  5. https://www.homeschoolbuyersco-op.org/dreambox-learning/?c=1 Unless I have no idea what I'm really looking at:001_huh: Is this the right thing?
  6. Do you have to buy more than one subscription if you have more than one child? That's what it seemed to be when I looked on the HSBC site. Also, what grades/age range does it cover? Just trying to decide if it's worth getting for my 3rd and 1st graders. Thanks!
  7. Oh wow. That's a great price!! Are they just as thick as the Scotch ones? I used my laminating machine for the first time today and LOVE it! :001_wub: I like the Scotch ones but would love to be able to use the cheaper ones without sacrificing the thickness and durability too much.
  8. I'm getting ready to get the Scotch Laminator and have seen many on here say they get the big pack of sheets from Sam's club. Could someone link me to which ones they are? I looked on the site but saw many. Thanks!
  9. Ok, the link isn't working. Anyway, it's the Brother Laser 2280 for $99.99 starting tomorrow at Staples!
  10. This starts tomorrow (Sunday). I think I'm going to get it! http://weeklyad.staples.com/Staples/...0&sneakpeek=Y#
  11. Ack. Sorry. Meant to post this in the general board. Don't know how do delete this thread though :001_huh:

  14. Thank you!! I just used that code too and ordered mine!!
  15. My 3rd grader has done Abeka phonics and is a very strong reader. She is reading well above her grade level. I'm looking for a good spelling program for her. I had decided on Spelling Power but haven't seen a lot of great reviews for it. I have seen many people talk about AAS though. With our situation, which would be a better fit for her? The instructions for SP intimidate me a bit, but I also don't want to have a program that is too slow and boring. For my 1st graders...we've done abeka phonics and it has worked well. I switched from Abeka to MFW for my 3rd this year (and will also do ADV with my 1st), so I was just going to switch everything over. I'm not exactly sure why, the phonics was working. I think we were all just getting really bored of it and one of my 1st graders needs a bit more than just worksheets to sit down and fill out everyday. He hates doing that. The other 1st loves it. So, I had decided on Pathway Phonics with Explode the Code. I got those books in and were looking through them but am now wondering if I should have just stuck with Abeka. For those who have done Pathway Phonics/Explode the Code, do they teach phonics as well as Abeka does? Will my sons have an easy time transitioning from Abeka to PP without there being gaps? Thank you!
  16. You're right, I think I AM overthinking it! I think since I'm getting the c-rods, I'll stick with just the flats. I also think it's a good idea to stick with the MM games to begin with and wait and see if I feel I should add the RS ones later. Thank you so much for your input!! :)
  17. Does anyone have suggestions for the base 10? I've never used them before so just trying to figure out if I need the set (with the cube, rods, flats and singles) or just the flats. And if I need interlocking or not. Thanks!
  18. Thanks for that link! I totally got confused. I don't remember seeing where she said what kind she had. I was actually thinking of the one you posted that you had (Brother HL-2280DW). I could really use the copy/scanning feature. But I guess I could always just use my old one if I needed to for that. $90 sounds like a great price for that!
  19. Going to have to check that paper out and stock up! I would definitely spend $20 more, but the one she got is only on sale for $150 right now. I would love to get one cheaper than that.
  20. Thank you. Yeah, I think that is part of the problem...I haven't been able to look through it yet so I really have no idea what else I'll need:/
  21. I am planning on getting the C-rods. But it's also been suggested to get the base 10 blocks/flats/set. I'm not sure exactly what I should get. Do I need the whole set that comes with the cube, flats, rods and singles? Or do I just need the 10 flats? Also, should I get the ones that interlock or not? As for the Judy clock, can someone link me to exactly what that is? I think I found one on amazon but want to make sure I'm getting the right one. I'm getting MM and will be getting C-rods, base 10 'something', and a Judy clock. Is it worth it to spend the money on the RS games or not? Many have said that there are lots of game ideas in the MM curriculum, so I'll be using that as well. How much do you love/use your RS games with MM?
  22. Thank you! I'm thinking about getting the RS games. Just trying to decide if it's worth the extra money!
