  1. Oh, wow. I'd definitely tell them that you are not satisfied with the amount and variety you are receiving and you'd like a refund.
  2. Yes!! Thank you. We live in DC suburbs but don't get to DC often so I was going to use your posts for field trip ideas!
  3. Ok, where's the recent thread with the DC trip blog link that included a trip to the White house when they just barely missed the president? I was going to use those posts to plan field trips to DC, but I can't find it ANYWHERE!!??!!
  4. I know several families who just throw their kids in their vehicles, no buckling of carseats at all. So crazy. My kids aren't allowed to ride with them.
  5. It is stressful to use it and ensure that you've done everything correctly!
  6. I can't say enough good things about AHG. I was a brownie for a year or so and absolutely hated it. I love AHG and how you can tie it into your homeschool curriculum. Or you can just earn the Badges they earn with their troop. Our troop does a lot of service projects that actually gets them in the community serving veterans and elderly and homeless. Not just making cards for soldiers, although we do that too. Each troop will be different, but we have 2 meetings a month plus 1-2 service projects or fun events/month. So it's not a huge commitment. And we aren't expected to be at every single function. We camp several times a year. We haven't had any mall lock ins or glamping trips. Best of all, no selling Popcorn or cookies!!! We sell Wreaths Across America and have a couple other fundraisers throughout the year but never just selling overpriced crap. That will vary by troop though.
  7. We just got over hand foot mouth. Which we got shortly after a vomiting stomach bug. And now we have influenza. All in less than 6 weeks. I want to cry.
  8. We have participated in little Flowers and AHG and much prefer AHG. it's more time consuming, but I love how our troop starts service projects when they are young. And not just making cards for soldiers, actually getting out in the community and serving. We're catholic and have never had a problem with the program. We've been in a Catholic troop but moved to a Christian troop when it started because it was half the distance. It's really what you make of it. You can just have your girls complete the Badges with their troop or you can tie them into your homeschool.
  9. Hugs. From the way you were talkiing, I thought your kids were 12 or 13. 7 and 5 wouldn't have me worried TOO much. Kids all leans st their own pace. Yes, maybe you should hit the books a little harder, but this definitely doesn't mean you're a failure.
  10. "Your baby is so cute!" When in actuality, the baby was hard to look at
  11. We love Jamestown and Yorktown. Williamsburg is overpriced even during homeschool week. Now when we go, we just walk around for free instead of paying money to go in the buildings. There's still plenty to do without paying. Va zoo.. skip. I'd probably do several hours at the beach and then go to the aquarium in the same day because it's a bit of a drive between VA Beach and Williamsburg. Have fun!!
  12. Such a nightmare. I don't have words.
  13. Freezer ziploc bags. This way you can just toss them when she gets home.
  14. What do I think about this kind of behavior? That it's freaking annoying AND exhausting.
  15. My husband went through practically the same thing, ended up needing a stronger antibiotic. Hopefully that's all it is, but I'd definitely go into the doctor or ER. Better safe than sorry.
  16. Oh and Tampa has a pass you can buy to save on Busch gardens/ top 5 attractions. http://www.citypass.com/tampa?mv_source=rkg&adpos=1t1&creative=79818670349&device=m&matchtype=b&network=g&gclid=CNvlysuezc0CFYdehgod2xMB1Q
  17. Are you Beach people? I'd spend a couple days at lego land and the rest at the beach. The gulf Coast is gorgeous. And the water will still be warm in October.
  18. No idea if it works, but soak in diluted apple cider vinegar.
  19. I thought our whole country was sarcastic by now. Everyone I know is sarcastic.
