  1. She was so tired that she did not care the beds were stacked. Kind of like a puppy bunk bed I guess.
  2. Barely getting this up in time, but I love the window on our front door.
  3. Another girl at dance had he second skin squares and it made SUCH a difference for the rest of her time! Thank you for suggesting it. There really should be some sort of “welcome to pointe” gift basket or something (and these would have to be included)!
  4. So, week one down, one to go. Here were some winners: whole milk yogurt with strawberries and blueberries (didn’t like the raspberries, I guess they deflated a bit) ”pizza wraps” (wrap with a bit of cream cheese to act as glue ?, mozzarella, and pepperoni) sunbutter and mini naans carrots and tomatoes with ranch hard boiled eggs (she’d never had them before and loves them) these brownie bites for dessert http://wallflowerkitchen.com/raw-brownie-bites-nut-free/ She rarely finished what I made during her break and would eat the rest on the way home. Right now we’re dealing with a blister on her heal. She went from like 40 minutes of pointe per week (her first year en pointe) to an hour+ a day. She was fine all except that blister. She’s totally loving intensive. She would live at the studio if she could.
  5. I used a Bella Band after my last two and liked the support it offered.
  6. I bet she would like frozen grapes!
  7. My daughter has two weeks of an in-town intensive. If you pack your dancer’s lunch, what do you pack? I have a (sort of) plan for the first week, but I wondered what others do. There is another student who is deathly allergic to nuts/peanuts, but fortunately we do sunbutter due to the same issue at home.

There is a wash called Hibiclense that can help stop it from spreading.
  9. I have a 6th grader struggling with grammar and punctuation. ? So, I’m looking at (kind of) starting over with basics, but in a refresher course way. At present I’m trying to decide between Jensen’s Journey Through Grammarland and Fix It Grammar (The Nose Tree, book 1). Any thoughts or experience with these? Grammarland looks like it doesn’t do much with punctuation (which is needed), but I read that some say the Fix It books go kind of fast and can leave students with questions.
  10. “Nope.” ”Yes there is! I see...” ”Well, then why did you ask?!”
  11. Dillard’s, Macy’s, other department stores. I might check kohls because of earning kohls cash and using it on other wedding items.
  12. Potato scrubber Mini whisk Butter dish Small digital food scale Candy thermometer Meat thermometer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. My 11 year old sticks with bobby pins and a hair net. My 8 year old uses this... https://www.discountdance.com/mobile/mobileDetail.php?cn1=accessories&cn2=hair-accessories&PageNumber=1&styleFocus=WHIRLJL&camp=GoogleShopping_WHIRLJL&utm_source=GoogleShopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=WHIRLJL&utm_campaign=Products&gclid=Cj0KCQiAwp_UBRD7ARIsAMie3Xbshy4E-DlIb2mzuk1-Nu9GLZ7pbR4prHUbzmfSHE5TqTOzUUPrt1gaAmQlEALw_wcB I do her hair for her, and while I have no problem with bobby pins and a hair net, I can do it with this on less than 5 minutes, a few pins to make sure it stays and we’re good. No need for a net. My oldest auditioned for her first intensive and got in, so now we are just deciding how many weeks she’ll go (there are 3, but she doesn’t have to attend all of them). 14. What is it like? It’s not a certainty, but I like to know what I’m getting into. [emoji4] In addition to homeschooling, what is house hunting like? How does daily living differ from the States? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. We finally found a food that doesn’t cause issues with ours - Pure Vita. It’s grain free and salmon based (one of ours is allergic to all bird meat). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. It IS pricey, but it lasts well since a little goes a long way. I’ve never seen a smaller size, but they might make a sample for you to try out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I’m pale as well, and by pale I mean I’ve been asked by more than one person if I’m albino (yup, albino with dark hair...). I use NARS chantilly concealer. I think some people use it as a highlighter, but it’s the only concealer that doesn’t look dark or orange or yellow on me. It goes on great and lasts. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Justice has some that are smooth and comfy. No elastic on the bottom, and not like a sport bra. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. You might not find this helpful, but... we’ve never had Keens but I loved my children’s Sorels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Vegan pumpkin pie. Cross your fingers. [emoji4] It looked fine, but we’ll see how it thaws. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I would ask them what some favorites are. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. As a former picky eater (ok, semi-former) I have two thoughts. 1. It always made me feel so welcome and part of the family when my mil would make things that I liked on purpose. And likewise when my sil came into the picture (no pork, no onions - her list was much shorter than mine). It made me feel accepted. In elementary school a friend’s mom told me I would never be able to date because I was so picky, and I was so young I just believed her. 2. Of course there were times when she would make something I had never tried before. A few of them became new favorites that at first I felt compelled to eat in order to be polite. I would ask or have ds ask for a list of things she likes and incorporate them. I wouldn’t keep those things on hand all the time, but include them every now and then. You’re sweet to try and work something out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I am far away from an empty nest, but I’ve thought about it before. My degree is in family and consumer sciences (home ec teacher), but I don’t think I want to teach high school or middle school. I like the idea of becoming Montessori certified and working at a Montessori school. I also plan on being the coolest grandma ever, so there’s also that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Thank you for your thoughts. We just bought these a month ago and I know her foot hasn't grown (not that it couldn't in a month, I just know it hasn't). The owner of the studio came and was VERY hands on during the fitting feeling each girl's feet, watching them, describing how they should feel, trying to ensure no scrunched toes, etc. She wanted all three girls to have the same brand and style of shoe... They obviously had very different sizes, but she was specific in the style. Maybe I should ask her? I don't want to come off like a helicopter mom, but I don't want my dd wanting to quit after the first month... [emoji26] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
