  1. One my girls found blue plastic in her chicken nugget. The company had us freeze the chicken nugget and sent us a container to ship it in so they could look at it. They also sent us coupons for more chicken nuggets. Um, no thanks. We’re good.
  2. Our oldest started pointe at 11. I think this studio likes girls to start at 10, but we came late to the party (studio). ? The artistic director bases it more on foot and ankle strength as well as maturity. The girls are not allowed to take their shoes home (except to sew ribbons) until they demonstrate responsibility and they can be trusted not to mess around with them at home.
  3. We use cheer ponytail attachments for our Nutcracker production(party girl). They used to be lovely ringlets, but now look like frizzy heaps from being used and stored. How can I help restore the beautiful bouncy curls? I’m not finding much help online. Thanks!
  4. If you want to include a dessert these are great! http://wallflowerkitchen.com/raw-brownie-bites-nut-free/
  5. Do you have a World Market? They always have fun random things that are perfect for stocking stuffers.
  6. We moved between my junior and senior year. There were tough times, but my parents helped me make the best of it. I was a resilient teen who didn’t care about fitting in. The school system I moved to had lower graduation requirements than my previous high school, so that was a fantastic bonus that year. It’s a hard call. It worked fine for me, but some teens don’t deal well with change.
  7. We were ironically in the middle of quiet time.
  8. When all is tidy as it should be... ring holder and soap dispenser next to the sink sign that says “trust your gut not the recipe” utensil crock salt and pepper shakers small pig on a wagon (it’s cuter than it sounds) KitchenAid mixer sign that says “southern cookin’ makes you good lookin’” tiered basket on the island
  9. Manuka honey by mouth
  10. Our 4 children all had a nasty stomach virus this week. They’re all on the mend. Dh and I haven’t suffered like they have, but I’ve had persistent headaches that come and go all week, along with nausea that comes and goes. Could it be the virus with different symptoms? I’m so tired of having a headache. Also, they seem to move around - sometimes in the front near my forehead, sometimes in the back. I’m going to go nuts and I just want to feel like myself again. What could this be?
  11. Ours currently eat PureVita salmon and pea. Our rat terrier is allergic to all forms of poultry, so we have to be careful of ingredients, and our mixed breed is sensitive to grains unfortunately. I’m interested in the Kirkland salmon and sweet potato now. I’ll have to look in to that and see if it would be a less expensive option! Other than the cost, we’re very happy with the PureVita (although I’m a bit concerned about the grain free and heart condition study).
  12. I agree with finding a teen dance student to come and give a mini lesson. That will provide a bit of structure for the girls that might feel lost if asked to come up with their own moves, plus make it more “real” rather than improvised. Maybe have the music from the ballet your dad likes playing in the background during the party?
  13. Eyes This is Franklin asking, “Did she HAVE to get up here, too?”
  14. We were are the time. It was rain off and on the whole way it seemed!
  15. You could check out the dinner theater in Chanhassen. We went a few times and it was fun.
  16. Growing They aren’t purple yet, but they’ll get there.
  17. Dirty Two of our children on a dig at Colonial Williamsburg 2 summers ago. ❤️ They enjoyed it so much! Glad they were understanding when we returned the costumes! ETA I guess all 4 of them are there - one in the corner and another’s feet. ?
  18. Clean Shout out to Bob for keeping the schoolroom floor clean. Although ds7 May have had a hand in it. ?
  19. Maybe find a cooking magazine and gift her a subscription? That way she can get new ideas each month and typically they include seasonal ideas. Since she likes what you make at home could you help her cook a few things and freeze them? Soups freeze well in single sized portions, as do some pasta dishes and casseroles. Cook’s Illustrated/Cook’s Country/America’s Test Kitchen have a variety of cookbooks, some recipes are more involved than others, but they have some very good foundational recipes. Like how to sauté a basic chicken breast and 5 sauces you could pair with it if you want. Stuff like that.
  20. Surprise The night before oldest dd’s birthday I staged her dolls like this, making it seem like they got caught in the middle of decorating for her. She loved it!
  21. I used to make this one all the time.., https://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/best-gluten-free-bread-recipe-ever
