  1. No advice, but many wishes for the right solution to present itself. Good luck!
  2. SUBBING to learn when this happens. I know I stumbled across it last year and bought up for school and gift giving! The only deal I know of is the one people are posting about the school items in the Target dollar bins.
  3. I've got to come back and read this thread. I think we are going to be dealing with MANY of these same struggles!
  4. I just posted on your update, but wanted to come back to read what happened. Sucha tragedy in the midst of celebration. I can only imagine the tears and roller coaster of emotions. It looks like you held out very well. Take care of yourself this week! :bighug:
  5. Beautiful! You look happy! Sorry for your loss. I am too new to have read the other threads yet, but want to offer both hugs and support.
  6. This is going to be a helpful thread for me. I plan to homeschool my 6yo this year and have a not-yet-2yo in the mix as well. I know he'll want to be glued to my hip, so I plan to offer a lot of "learning" projects at the same time. Crafts, puzzles, games, play kitchen, peg people, etc. I **HOPING** this will work ;)
  7. I don't have much reference, but my son attended pre-school and kindergarten in public school and in searching for homeschool curriculum options, I see that he already knows most grade one materials.
  8. I haven't read all the responses, but for us: We live in a tiny home. We have one couch and one rocking chair. I use the rocking chair mostly for nursing, so daddy also uses it when he's putting the kiddo to sleep. We are all "allowed" to use the whole house. Kids are allowed on our bed, we change where we sit for dinner, I lay down on their beds, we all cuddle on the couch. We sit on the floor a LOT! The only off limits is jumping on furniture (kids or grown up ;) And, if anyone in our house is sitting somewhere and another person is especially tired, sick, nursing or hurt-that person, kid or adult, gets first dibs. We are a mixed family of religious/spiritual beliefs. My dad was a "don't bother me where ever I am" type of guy and my husbands family was very flexible (as far as I know). Nice topic, by the way!
  9. Hi! I am new here and to homeschooling. We live in Southern Indiana. My son will be starting the first grade at home. He did pre-school and kindy in public school. I hope to use Christopherus as our curriculum, but am still exploring all the many options. I'm looking for groups in Southern Indiana as well. Thanks! I look forward to learning from you all! ~Lisa
