  1. My oldest said that to me once, or something along the lines of me having a baby for my birthday. Didn't happen. ;)
  2. Oh, I am in tears over here for you and for your little girl. :hug We're in the midst of getting licensed to foster/adopt (we'll be fictive kin) and this is one of my fears, that some distantly related person will pop up when we least expect it. Reunification with birth mama is another story. My heart is just breaking for you.
  3. Oh my gosh, that is terrifying. I'm glad she is all right and I hope she does choose to accept the counseling.
  4. Only a few minutes. It took longer to get the kids to the bathroom when they randomly decided they had to pee the second we walked into the polling station. ;)
  5. I tell before the pee dries on the stick. I've never miscarried but my way of thinking was that if I did, I would want the support from family and friends.
  6. That speed test is neat. I was reading with my kids in the background which always makes me slower. I still got all of the questions correct and read 679 words per minute.
  7. http://www.amazon.com/Science-Play-Little-Hands-ages/dp/0824967992/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1350674301&sr=8-1&keywords=Science+Play My kids think this is pretty fun.
  8. Ack, the link I was just watching stopped working. She disappeared from view and now I'm getting the EarthCam logo! Aaaiieee.
  9. I think that if you enjoy church and Awana, they can deal with the allergy. I don't understand sending your kids to Awana hungry. Ours starts at 6pm and I always feed my kids before we go (and then a snack when they get back home). You can't change the fact that your kid has allergies and she shouldn't be excluded because of them. Only one of mine has an allergy and he's my youngest so we haven't had to deal with it too much but I've watched a friend of mine battle others about allergies for years. (And totally off topic, how neat. I'm Lexi too. Our kids are very close in age and we're expecting a foster baby in January. What a coincidence.)
  10. Closer to the neat kitchen but it's not always like that. I mean, right now someone would probably have a heart attack coming into my playroom that is covered in Rice Chex thanks to the baby dumping a box, puzzle pieces, and a couch filled with laundry. It just depends on the room and the time of the day. At night, it's all clean before I go to bed.
  11. I don't think it's a good idea to tell a 7 and an 11 year old that but they might already know. I knew a lot more than my parents shared when they divorced. My mom was shocked when I told her I knew what happened a few years ago.
  12. Slutty snakes. Sneaky snake goes dancin', a wigglin', and a-hissin'... sneaky snake goes dancin', a-gigglin', and a-kissin'...
  13. 4+. I seem to notice more of my church friends having 4 but most other people in my life have 2 and think any more is insane.
  14. That is bizarre. I always shared the normal stats, the name, weight, length, maybe head circumference. I only shared that I didn't tear or I tore front to back with close friends who asked. LOL
  15. It is 50 and raining here. I'd be willing to bet we see some snow flurries tonight. It says it's supposed to be 39 but we'll see. I have a feeling we're going to have a doozy of a winter after our half-butt one last winter.
  16. Background check for anyone who works in the children's ministry as well as references to even be placed. Then you are required to have two adults at the least along with your helpers (who can be teens or adults). Only females 16 and older can change diapers and assist in the bathroom.
  17. I am so sorry about your dog. I do agree that you should call the shelter and inform them of what is going on. I'm also surprised their vet didn't catch it.
