  1. That makes sense. Mine have been on the wait list and I've turned down spots since the older 2 were in 1st/K. I finally realized it'd never be a fit and stopped putting them on 😂. I do hope this new school is a great fit and gives you the space to really rest.
  2. I'd try it. As you know, the charters out here vary from great to what-the-heck?!? You can always pull your kids out if it stinks. For your dd, I can't imagine it any worse than this year's school. Also, can you put your 8th grader on the wait list for the high school program in the building next to the CC? Just in case this charter turns out to be whackadoodle?
  3. I was thinking pneumonia as well. I'd get to a doctor.
  4. I'd be fine with taking March off, but not both March and April. I'd want to do classes 2-3 times a week in April, just to keep skills and strength up.
  5. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I am so sorry.
  6. You have my sympathies :P ;) .
  7. I know ds17 had to write an in class paper as his final last semester for English 101.
  8. I'd consider having dh or a friend call her and quiz her. Otherwise, I'd block her number.
  9. Lift. At the time I got mine, they'd gone back to metal gears on the lift, but the tilts still had plastic. It's been a few years, so I don't know if it's still the case.
  10. I'm thinking there has to be some sort of Russian interference in your poll results because I can't fathom another reason why the results are in favor of that bread abomination. Why ruin a perfectly good loaf of bread with raisins? ;)
  11. This was my favorite, too, out of Moleskine, Leuchtturm, and Rhodia. The paper is like butter, and minimal ghosting.

    Sad

I just saw this. I am so very sorry for your loss. There are no words.
  13. They do :) . My first was a green hardcover squared. I often see them at Staples or Barnes and Noble, too. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/886293033X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_GYyNAbV9M12WR
  14. I'm on the same and I get labwork done every 8 weeks to monitor my WBC and neutrophils. I recently had to cut my dose back because I was low and wasn't rebounding. I started on 100, dropped to 75, dropped to 50 one day 75 the next, and am now on 50. I was sick for the entirety of January and beginning of February.
  15. Anytime a school is put on lockdown here, the news and/or police post it on Facebook.
  16. Our friends own Albion Tea Company. Sadly, I'm not tea drinker, but my tea drinking friends who have had Albion's blends enjoy them.
  17. Yeah. I'm down the mountain from you, and it seems there have been an alarming number of threats in our area.
  18. The closure was because of the graffiti threat. The Dad who was arrested was unrelated to the closure, but how horrifying--his poor children.
  19. My down comforter (white) didn't have a cover for the longest time when my boys were little. The biggest stain is when one snuck in, got a bottle of liquid foundation, and spilled it all over. There's also other mystery stains. I'd vote no on white because I know (with lots of littles) that even the best behaved come up with hairbrained schemes that don't take consequences or the curtains or the comforter into account, and I know I'd spill coffee on the comforter, and I know I'd be bothered by stains I couldn't get out, and I know I wouldn't spend the money to replace.
  20. I am so sorry, Lisa. I will be praying.
  21. It sounds like a better fit long term, so I think I would go with it. That said, how will you feel about never being able to get away from your work? Sometimes, having so much flexibility can be a bad thing if you're not good at managing your time, or if you're not good and setting the paid work out of your mind.
  22. These would be my recommendations. NROLW does require at least a home gym (I use weightplates/bar, a bench, a squat rack, an exercise ball, and dumbbells). I like this program because there is definite progress. It's so nice to see how much more you can lift each day, and I can tell a difference in my strength.
  23. I was all set to tell you how I haven't switched midyear for a few years, but then I remembered ds15's algebra. It's more of a detour, really. He's taking a break from Saxon and doing Algebra Survival Guide. And I just switched ds14 from 8/7 to 1/2 so we can try the Virtual Homeschool Group online format since I have a horrible time giving immediate or even semi-immediate feedback. Ds12 is finishing up 7/6, and I'll have him do 1/2 instead of 8/7 as planned for the same reason. Today: Ds14 and ds12 have their enrichment program. Ds18 works and is trying to get in some last minute scholarship applications. Ds14 has a wrestling competition, ds15 has track practice, and ds17 has football practice. I'm currently waiting for ds15 to finish a test to see if he happens to place into College English. I don't know if he will (he's just a freshman), but if he happens to, it opens up some DE options for the fall. I hope I get no phone calls because I'm not expecting any and I dislike talking on the phone.
