My younger daugher took the paragraph writing workshop through Home2Teach. The class lasts 6 weeks and is $85. My DD is a strong creative writer but needed some structure to move into academic writing. She didn't especially like the class but it did help her organize her writing and is comparatively inexpensive.

My daughter used Apologia's Marine Biology with Red Wagon tutorial DVD. She enjoyed the course. For me, Apologia high school texts are too wordy!

Since I'm working today, I was up early and left before my daughters were awake. This is the fourth Mother's Day in a row I've had to work and I was feeling a bit bitter this morning. I work at a recreation center; we're closed to the public but have after hour reservations. I was so wonderfully surprised to find this morning's reservation was a church attended by some very good friends I've not seen in months! Seeing them has made the start to Mother's Day much better. We're going to spend sometime catching up after the service is over. Plus my three honorary nieces are performing a liturgical dance and I get to watch!

Hello all, My daughter is in need of a veteran to interview for her dual credit History class. This is the second section of this history class and they have to conduct another interview. I was curious if any of the veterans on here, or any veterans you know, would mind helping her by conducting a Skype (either audio or audio and video) interview with her? Skype is an acceptable format. There is a legal release form, because the college uses these interviews and the reflection essay (something my daughter has to write afterwards about her interviewing experience) for their records. My daughter enjoys the Crash Course youtube videos in history. We use them as supplements to Mystery of History. I didn't "choose" them, rather my daughter discovered them on her own. She retains a surprising amount of information from watching the videos.
