As DD and I are trying to work through Algebra 1, I am noticing that some of the foundations, that I would expect to be learned in Pre-Algebra, are not there. During the year she should have "done" pre-algebra, I had difficult pregnancy and then had a newborn. So she did not get the attention she should have, :( We have agreed that we need to go back and learn these concepts before moving on with Algebra 1. Do you wonderful ladies have any suggestions for a basic program that can be move through quickly as we would like to do this over the summer and get back to Algebra 1 in the fall. That is the ideal anyway but we will take it how it goes. TIA

we do taekwondo and it is $125 per month for 2-3 classes a week,(depending on belt level) although we could come to as many as we wanted. Each subsequent person is discounted significantly and after the 3rd person it is free.

We lost my MIL this way a little over a year ago and yes, we prayed that a lot. Mercifully, she did not suffer the indignity of Alzheimers/Dementia very long. My prayers for peace and calmness are yours. Jenn

My 15 year old lives in leggings. When the shirt is too short she will wear jean shorts over the leggings. Once the curves started appearing the leggings and just a t-shirt outfit was no longer ok for us. She likes legging so much I learned to make them for her in all her favorite geeky fabric. Jenn

My madien name was Cudd. Unless you don't know that is what a cow chews on while grazing (with the addition of one more d) I don't think I need to explain much why I was fully ready to take on my hubby's name. Did the bank put the money back? You should not have to fill out paperwork to stop payment on a fradulent charge. This is their mistake. Since they can't figure out how to fix it without making you do the work I would close the account and change banks.

We are using Lightening lit for 9th. Starting with Early to Mid. \They are pretty open and go and there are gradeable comp questions and papers. It is designed to be used as a semester long course but the syllabus has an option for a full year as well. We like it. Well, I like it. DD14 is having a hard time adjusting to the greater responsiblities of HS. :(

I dislike puzzles. So I have only done them with others in a confined setting like in the side rooms at a performance where we had to be quiet or small ones with my kids.

Tha same thing happened to me. I did end up getting the text book eventually but it made for a later start to the year. I did buy it used and the description was for the student text but I was glad to have the teachers edition so I kept it.

The Valley fire in Lake county jumped to 40,000 acres overnight. The towns of Cobb, Middletown and Hidden Valley Lake are very likely to be almost completly burnt down. I live in the next county and my eyes are burning from the smoke in the air. It is just terrible!! Jenn

I am using Hewitt Homeschooling syllabus which uses BJU as a spine and then has them reading and writing about other books such as 1776 and The Mercury 13.( they have a list you can choose from) So far we are liking it.

Severs is no fun. Ice, no barefoot. inserts and motrin. My DD 14 suffer from it starting in 2nd grade. She is a martial artist and had to wear special shoes on the mat. There is not cure besides time. The growth plate in the heel fuses between ages 12-14 and the pain stops. The pain is from the inflamation of the cartalige between the heel growth plate and the rest of the foot.
