  1. Curiosity of the day. I am in the market for some new clothes. I am shopping online and reading reviews of some shirts. I personally do not want a breast pocket on the shirts I am shopping for. It is funny, however, to read through reviews complaining that the shirt doesn't have a pocket. Multiple reviews complain about a lack of pocket. I have no use for a shirt pocket, and no desire to carry something that would bump around and, in my guess, just fall out. What do women use shirt pockets for?
  2. I haven't read the whole thread, but I have a question. I have wondered, if a classroom is nut free does that just mean no food with nuts in it or does it also mean no food processed on equipment also used with nuts? Or not just a question for the classroom, but is there a risk posed to those severely allergic by being around people eating things processed on equipment also used for nuts even if the product doesn't have nuts in it?
  3. I don't remember being pushed for an induction very much. I know it was discussed, but I pretty much said I'm not ready yet and they just sent me for NST's. I agreed to an induction at just over 43 weeks. It was a bit amusing that when my Dr. met me at the hospital he said he wasn't sure I was going to show up.
  4. I am considering getting a cheap computer so the kids could have one dedicated for them, and I would get exclusive use of mine. I know I eventually want two computers but money is an object at this time. Is it a waste of time to buy one of the under $400 computers? It wouldn't be used hard, mostly for looking up information, some streaming of videos, and some basic games (nothing with major graphics). As you can probably tell, I am not very techy. Opinions?
  5. I know very little about the game Minecraft. What ages is it appropriate for? Would it be appropriate for a seven year old 1st grader? It looks like a multiplayer game, can multiplayer be turned off?
  6. We made pizza. The dough didn't rise very well, but we ate it just the same.
  7. Hot dogs and puttanesca, yes we are very chic here.
  8. OP hope you get to do something fun with all those miles you are racking up.
  9. Male horses house their horsehood in the sheath. Yes, it's exactly what you are thinking. The sheath gets dirty with smegma and we humans so considerately clean it for them.
  10. My laundry room is clear other than the pile of laundry that needs to be done. Yay. Next, more work on kids things.
  11. I started a purge of one child's room. I need to finish one more bookshelf and then make a second sweep through tomorrow. I'm liking this.
  12. Well, I got through half of the laundry room before I was interrupted by dinner. I really wanted to get that done tonight. We shall see how much steam I have after bedtime.
  13. I got the cardboard out that has been waiting to go to recycling. After I get the floors swept I will be going into the laundry room. I'm looking forward to a whole new laundry room.
  14. Our library here unfortunately doesn't carry any of it. I think we'll try the audio. I can pick up the book later if we want it, and this will get us started. Thank you everyone.
  15. Honestly, my thought would be the beach. Is there a lake or any other type of beach you could get to? Kids can run around doing preferred activities, in the water, in the sand, playing a game, even the adults get some relax time when they get a chance to sit. It's what my family did growing up. When we were at the beach the various ages could do what they preferred there. Some of the other trips out did not go over so well when trying to accommodate a range of ages. The young ones couldn't participate or the olders were bored. My other suggestion would be a destination with some type of interesting aquarium/animal show. Hope you can find something everyone can enjoy at least a little bit.
  16. If I can only purchase one, which one do I want? We are trying to decide between the SOTW CD or book. I'm leaning toward the CD since I could accomplish a task and listen with the kids at the same time. I am not sure yet if they are more visual or auditory learners, so I don't know that having the book in print is important at the moment. The thing holding me back from getting the CD right now is the wonder if there is content in the book that I would miss with just the CD. We will have the activity books. Thoughts? Insight?
  17. A stick or a manual. There was no option to choose more than one.
  18. I have been in all the cupboards in the kitchen now, yay. I even found a cookie sheet I thought was gone. Next up, maybe the laundry room.
  19. I agree it's not an accurate representation of how you may fair in a class. I have taken classes from professors who have terrible ratings where I end up learning a lot and really liking the professor, to professors rated highly (some based on looks) who require little work and cancel class frequently making the class an easy grade. Don't worry too much, I find the site more interesting than informational.
  20. I look at it this way. At this point the agent seems to have refused to give a release to the sellers. Whether it is absolutely necessary or not is not the point to me. It is a piece of paper that should not be that difficult for the realtor to produce. Real estate is about relationships. Is she done working with you as well? This would be my question currently. Even if you purchase this house currently without the realtor, theoretically you could be a customer for her in the future as a seller. Add this to any possible referrals she could receive through you with a good experience and she is throwing away potential customers. This is all her prerogative. She can work, or not work, with whomever she chooses. I personally would not choose to work further with a realtor who does not want to give a party confidence in their legal safety. Regardless of whether I purchased this house without a realtor, or found another house through a realtor, this particular realtor would not benefit from me. If you choose to pursue this house and get the release from your realtor, your realtor should not affect further negotiations with the sellers. They shouldn't have any more direct contact.
  21. Have you seen The Hollows series by Kim Harrison? The first book is Dead Witch Walking.
  22. OK, sorry and ignore me. I completely overlooked the sold out sign. I would find some shams that went with the quilt and call it good, or look for a different quilt.
