It made me think of this news story from April:

Czech law enforcers issued a warning after officers were called out on March 27 in the small town of Lázně Bohdaneč, east of Prague, because of complaints about maskless naturists basking in warm weather. "Unfortunately, many of the sunbathing citizens were gathered in large groups, and some were not wearing face masks.," a police statement said. "Upon the arrival of the police, everyone agreed to respect the government regulation [that face shields are compulsory outside the home]. Citizens are allowed to be without clothes in designated locations, but they still must cover their mouths, and only gather in appropriate numbers."

I didn't read the article so I don't know whether it mentions full or partial nudity, but why wouldn't the requirement include covering one's private parts for hygiene reasons?  I would think an uncovered *ahem* on men or women would likely allow one's germs to circulate and linger on a surface.  If one is ill with covid or a variant the infection isn't restricted to the nose and mouth area.  I am not a doctor nor do I play one on tv, but I would assume that any body part with fluids would carry bacteria and virus.

Surely there are people here who go back farther than that. I was here back when it was the old old scrolling format with the single pages. And I'm definitely not the oldest.

Me too! I just go through periods where I don't post often or log on at all.

I got it this morning. I was happy to see our soon to to be 18 yo (3 more weeks to go) was not included in the amount sent.

eta: I did not have plans to opt out for our other two (both under 17). I've been in a wait and see mode. If we had received an amount for the soon to be 18, then I would have started the process to opt out for them.

So if a child turns 18 this year then they won't be included in the credit.  Is that correct?

  4. I had my first child almost exactly one month after 21.  I was much too young.  My youngest was born a few days before I turned 36.  It was a completely different experience.  I don't know if I would recommend delaying motherhood to others, but it would've been better for me and my children.

  5. As a mom to former gymnasts and someone who used to work in a gym I love this.  They do make under leotard garments.  You can get both full style and bra/underwear combos.  Our gym's leotards allowed for both but most of the girls chose not to wear shorts.  Luckily my girls did not continue gymnastics past puberty so we never had to manage the shaving/tampon issue.  I am a former cheerleader so I know all about that tomfoolery.

  6. I am definitely not an infectious disease person, but I wonder if some of the positive covid cases also were positive from the flu.  Meaning the numbers were higher than reported.  When someone is very ill with covid the treatment for it would trump the treatment for the flu and since it (covid) didn't always present the same way in all people the flu may have been not tested for or overlooked as a possibility.

Could be related. Most of what I've read is in the first 2 weeks after the shot, though.

    This.

I have seen reports of that along with menstrual irregularities in women who are still cycling. I hesitate to say I’ve seen it because I’m not interested in citing sources. So this is just a “yeah I’ve heard of that” with no further proof being offered.

Personally I had mid cycle spotting after my second Moderna and that was very unusual for me.

    And the bolded.

There has been a lot of discussion of this on twitter.  Women both experiencing much heavier periods than usual, and post menopausal women having unexpected periods.  I think it is good to see a doctor, but I would not rule out that it is vaccine related.

    Also the bolded.

After three days, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a phone call saying, “Hey, I texted you about making an appointment a few days ago, did you get that?”

Yes!  I have at&t and miss a shocking amount of texts.  They just never show up on my phone.  I've heard other people with at&t say the same thing.  She may have legitimately not have gotten it.

    If not the above then...

I'd assume that hairdresser are absolutely swamped with work as more and more people emerge from "lockdown" thanks to vaccinations.
