  1. I would also like to know if anyone has used this yet and what they think about it. Anyone?
  2. I loved mine and used it a lot. It's great for those "I'm-going-to-die-if-I-don't-get-some-sleep" nights and you can prop them up with the pillow and not stress that they are going to roll off your lap if you fall asleep.:D
  3. My 8 yr old ds 2nd grader= 3-6 hrs depending on the day and how fast he works. 5 days a week.
  4. Thanks everyone for your positive comments. I really appreciate it!
  5. LOL! Sorry didn't mean too offend...it's a great sport...;)
  6. What cracked me up was the Badminton....:001_huh::lol:
  7. I used pieces that were about two feet long. Overlapped a little for good measure;).
  8. You're going to think I'm crazy but ever since I was little if I took a multivitamin they made me feel very tired. I have tried a lot of different vitamins and everyone did the same thing to me. I had finally given up when my husband bought Bronson's Omega Complete for women for me to try, they worked great. I don't get tired on them and they have even regulated my period (I can go for a year without one). So in my opinion the best multi out there. We buy them from there web site. bronsonvitamins.com
  9. Oh yeah, Michael's also has many different colors of duck tape to choose from.
  10. I bought the roll of 12" by 50' paper at Micheal's craft store in the kids craft section. I have not marked the years yet. I'm still trying to figure that out. Any suggestions? Middle ages and Renaissance this year.
  11. I made this timeline for our history this year. It is almost 50 feet long and 12 inches wide. I have not marked the decades out yet but as you can see I have my line in the middle. I bought a dowel, the knobs, the roll of paper, gold spray paint and red duck tape. Had my dad cut the dowel to size and then I attached the ends and spray painted it gold. Then took a razor and cut down through the middle of a roll of duck tape and very painstakingly :glare::001_smile: covered the edges of the roll of paper so it wont rip easily. Glued it to the dowels and rolled. It took me about 4 solid hours to do. :001_huh:A little longer than I anticipated. But I think it is worth it. This will really help Ds and I to SEE how historical events are laid in history and where they are in relation to other events.
  12. I used to think she was so cute...but now she just looks so odd. All that pressure to look young and smooth, it just messes with them. I DON"T get the big lips thing! It looks so fake and terrible. They look like a fish has sucked on there lips for a few days. Awful!
  13. In NC we have to have a name when we register our school and you have to do that when they are seven. You can't change your name once you register either...so I thought about it for 2 years and finally decided to combine parts of my two DC's names to come up with DONLIVY ACADEMY. Maybe you could do something similar.
  14. Big Brother you did an excellent job telling everyone about your baby brother. Caedmon is such a beautiful baby and your going to be a great big brother to him. Thanks for letting us now about him and your mommy! Congratulations!
  15. Absolutely! I was in Walmart a few months ago and they called a code adam and described what the boy was wearing. I gladly helped them search for the child. But it only took a couple of minutes for them to find him. It just "inconvenienced" people for all of 2 minutes.
  16. Yes it isn't always negligence. I am the mother who won't let her 7 year old son go into the men's restroom by himself, I take him into the women's one with me. He is not allowed to leave my side AT ALL. My son was 7 when we were shopping at Walmart one one time and I was looking in the refrigerator for my favorite rice milk, they had moved it so it took me a moment. When I turned around my son was nowhere in sight. I went to the next isle and next and the next, my heart started racing and I was calling for him very loudly. I was just about to tell one of the employees when I heard over the loud speaker " Will MY NAME please come to the # 2 checkout counter". I had always told him if he got seperated from me to go to the front desk and tell them he was lost. That is what he did. He went straight to the check out and told them. Oh course he was mad at me for letting him get lost......:001_smile: Apparently when I stopped and poked my head into the refrigerator he did not notice I stopped and kept on walking. So it can happen to the best of us. I would not care if they searched my bags or if they called a lock down. I would rather them "inconvenience" a few people than have a kidnapped or dead child on my conscience because I did not have the time for it.
  17. I actually breathed a sigh of relief that I didn't know I was feeling. And I live in NC! But if they had succeeded then other states would try to follow suit. I guess that has been bothering me more than I new. I know you guys are all very happy!
  18. Yep! The orgasm thing works. Lots of them!:D Started labor with my son in a couple of hours. Of course he being almost 10 lbs meant I could not push the little sucker out after 3 hrs of pushing.:glare: So I had a C-section. A complicated labor and delivery at that. Needless to say my daughter was a scheduled C-section so I can't tell you if the orgasm thing worked for her. A ladies got to stock up for the dry season ahead.:):001_smile::D
  19. Very good article! I believe it completely. My Dad and my brother are dyslexic, when we were growing up my brother had a very hard time reading and was not diagnosed with Dyslexia until he was 13. He read at an average 5 year old level. My dad thought the best way to help him was to have him read every night out loud to the whole family, we would sit in the living room and each take a turn reading a paragraph from a book. At first it was torture for him and us. It would take him 10 mn just to read one paragraph. But within a couple months he cut that time in half and a year after we started he could almost read as good as the rest of us. My dad is an avid reader and reads all the time. But when he reads out loud he has a little difficulty. But he is much better than when he was young and he attributes it to the fact that he has always kept up his reading through all these years. My brother does not read outloud anymore and regressed a little bit but he is still able read and write pretty well.
  20. My husband does own his own window cleaning business. He does use dawn dish washing detergent because it works the best. Much better than professional grade wash soap. He cleans multi-million dollar vacation homes that are 2, 3, 4, or 5 stories high. I can tell you if your window are real old that any window cleaner is going to give you a high price because they are a pain to clean and clean correctly. As for the inside of the pain, there is nothing you can do about that. If you have more that 1 story and don't feel comfortable going up a ladder to clean them, then hire some one to do them. If you can do it yourself, then do this: Take the screens out, get a tub of soapy water (outside of course), a big brush, a bunch of towels and if you have a squeegee use it. Wipe down the screen both sides, clean the sills all over, take a wet rag wipe the window and squeegee dry. If you have a black seal that smears because it is old then be very careful next to the edges. Put screen back into place and your done. Watch out for bees, spiders and any other insects that lurk in there.:D
