  1. My DD is doing MM 6. Her computation test scores have dropped a little since we went from Saxon to MM. What is a good review book that focuses on computation? I'd also like a review book that gives jut a few problems (from various topics) to do each day. We were using Math 4 Today, but ut only goes through 5th grade. Thanks!
  2. Is there a different Phonics Pathway book for each level up to 4th grade? Looking around the internet, I just see the one book?
  3. I should have said she's not ready for the grammar programs that I have here on hand, but thinking about it more, she may be able to start R&S Grammar 2. We've used Abeka phonics, but didn't finish it. We did through a few lessons in first grade. She lost interest really quick in phonics, when she was able to read fluently. So I guess I'm wondering where should I jump back in? I will definately check out Phonics Pathways. What does OPGTR stand for? We've used Abeka spelling with the older kids, is AAS better? WWE is a writing curriculum? Handwriting or composition? Thank you so much everyone.
  4. She is 7. Will be 7.5 when school starts. What I've used with all my kids is Abeka (they call it Language or Language Arts?) through 2nd grade, along with HWOT, and Abeka spelling. As far as Abeka goes, I just feel like their 1st grade book is way too easy for her, and the 2nd grade book too. (Grammar). But the 3rd grade is way too hard. I've used R& S Grammar with my older ones starting in 2nd grade, and liked that. Just really trying to find something that would be a good fit for her.
  5. She is just starting 1st grade, but reads wonderfully, maybe on a 2nd grade level. We did abeka phonics for k and a little bit into first grade, but with her reading so well, it seemed very slow. What LA programs do you all love? I'm not sure where to go from here. I feel like she's past learning to read, but not ready for grammar. Help!
  6. Which math programs focus on concepts? She doesn't like Saxon or any math for that matter. She wants to do Teaching Textbooks, but I have resisted, out of fear that it wouldn't be a challenging program.
  7. Two years in a row, my rising 5th grader has scored very well in math computation, but the other math skills, she scored much lower. She scored well in multiplication and division computation and decimals. She scored much lower, but still, on grade level for: Numbers and number relations Estimation Operation concepts Measurement Geometry/spacial sense Data, tats, probability Patterns, functions, algebra We have been using Abeka for k-3rd grade and Saxon for 4th grade. I want to look for a curriculum that would fill in the gaps on the areas she didn't test as well in. any ideas? Thank you.
