  1. Thanks, this isn’t quite what I am looking for but it is good to see a secular option.
  2. Is this course overtly religious? I prefer our science to be secular but am having a hard time finding a good, secular, online chemistry option. Thanks.
  3. Maybe a good neuroscience program? I can always modify to meet what I am looking for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I took the class, so I know what it entails, wasn’t looking to DE for it, more looking for resources for a high school version or something I can modify. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. This looks great, thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I was talking with my daughter about a course I took in college called Physiological Psychology and she would really like to do a class on this and I feel it is a good follow up to her other work this year. Has anyone seen a good textbook or better yet a course that is already out there to enroll her in? TIA
  7. We were waitlisted for the charter shool my daughter wanted to attend for high school so now I am in planning mode to continue homeschooling for 9th grade. We were looking at the Big History Project as she has done two rounds of the 4 year cycle and doesn't want to do another. Has anyone used it as World History? We are doing a Biology with a lab, will it be too much science? Thanks!
  8. I am using this unit with my 7th grader this year. The unit only covers part of the book as it is only designed as a 3 week unit. For me these usually end up being more like 4 weeks. I purchased the student workbook and teacher guide that go with the book and plan to have more like a 12 week study with it.
  9. I am liking the answers ;-). I really like the order things are presented in both and was dreading trying to line them up, I just needed "permission" I guess.
  10. Or just do them side by side concurrently? I have Human Odyssey Volume 2 and Story of Science Newton, I want to do both tohether and they cover the same period of time, should I try to line them up or do you think I can just go through each in order? I have the teacher guide and student pages for Story of Science and plan to use them.
  11. Pandemic is super fun with a group, so definitely try it!
  12. Or is it just me? I used their Level One books all the way through, then for 2 years we did Oak Meadow history and I loved it. This year, OM7 history was much less impressive to me so I looked around and settled on HO Early Modern with some supplementing. I downloaded it, printed it, and meh. There is not enough there. Then I read a thread mentioning teacher's guides, got excited, went to the site, and the only one out is Modern.....Why did they do the last book first? And it was released in 2011..So I emailed and asked if any more are planned and got the usual "depending on interest more could come". So no. This reminds me of waiting for the level 2 science to come out. Not sure why I come back to them so often, must just be because there is a lack of secular materials that meet my need, and Pandia comes sort of close...sometimes...but not really.
  13. Lots of great ones already suggested that I won't repeat. We also love Tsuro and Agricola (the 2 player version). We watch Tabletop on Youtube and get a lot of ideas there.
  14. I agree with this, you can adapt it to fit your needs. We use History Odyssey and I don't like "The Story of Mankind". I use Human Odyssey and just align it and make adjustments I need. We do have both the Usborne and Kingfisher Encyclopedias and I do agree that Kingfisher is a bit more advanced and meatier.
  15. They aren't secretive about it, you can call and place your order and find out right away. It may be less convenient, but definitely not secretive.
