  1. My girls really enjoyed Mrs Nowell’s class. She’s a fabulous teacher!!
  2. Two of my daughters took Pre-Calc and had a wonderful experience. They still talk about how much they enjoyed the class (LOL! We're talking Pre-Calc!!!).We had no issues getting any kind of feedback including the final grade. I have another daughter who will be starting Pre-Calc this coming year. She's a little bit terrified/excited.
  3. My head is spinning. My Senior THOUGHT that she wanted to study Medieval History. However, she changed her mind and would prefer studying Modern (1850-Present). What would you suggest reading for literature? Thanks so much for any assistance. Last year I had three in high school with a Senior. This year I have three in high school with a Senior. My head just might explode.
  4. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! I've also graduated two, I have a rising Senior, Junior and Freshman remaining. I am AGONIZING over courses for next year!!! Right here with you!!
  5. Sorry for the delay, I'm just seeing your response. We've been using TabletClass for awhile and have not any issues. In fact, when we have had questions, I've contacted the designer of the program (John Zimmerman). John truly loves math and teaching math. It is vitally important to him that students understand concepts and have a good foundation for higher level maths. I've emailed John and always gotten a prompt email (and sometimes a phone call!). I know that I sound like a fan girl but TC has made it very easy for me to have multiple kids in a variety of math levels. Sending good luck wishes. There are so many options for math now. I am confident that you'll find something that you love for your family.
  6. I've had three of my students take Algebra, Geometry and Algebra II with TabletClass. A fourth will be starting Geometry next year. TC has been a very good fit with my crew who range from highly math intuitive to a very average learner. Mr. Zimmerman is always quick to answer questions, provide input and respond to any type of needs. I highly recommend TabletClass. My girls have been well prepared for advanced math (Calculus and Statistics).
  7. This post left me with more than just a few stray tears (HELP! I'm leaking!). My second child is finishing homeschool this week and is moving to college in a month. Within the next four years, the remaining three will also finish their high school careers. WHERE has the time gone? My first homeschooler (and oldest child), is in grad school. We started schooling when she was four (she insisted). I have about one more month of my twentieth year homeschooling. WHAT IN THE WORLD. Sigh...I'm very grateful for the community that I've found here. I've mostly been a quiet reader and responded to posts via private message. Most of my homeschooling years have been spent without the support of IRL fellow homeschoolers. This forum (and one other) have been life savers for me. Recipes, curricula, college packing lists, beverages <g>...Congrats to you for reaching such an important milestone. Sending a hug.
  8. I miss seeing the race to post first on the new board! My first homeschooled student is in grad school so I've been here for awhile.
  9. Oh..just reading this now. I'm so sorry...How tragic. I'm also an adoptive mom (to 3 of my 5 girls) and my heart breaks for those children. Sending prayers for healing and peace and that you will all be able to support each other. So very sad. I'm so truly sorry. :grouphug:
  10. Love this author and this book (too much to see the movie). His novella (And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer), left me weeping periodically for a few days (perhaps because my mother has early stage dementia) . I have loved all of his books.
  11. I agree with dropping it off with the police. Please protect yourself and don't get directly involved. Hugs. This must be upsetting and I'm sorry that you're dealing with this situation.

  14. These are so super yummy! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/832462312345214217/ Also, we tried these pancakes over the weekend and they were REALLY good https://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2017/08/06/how-to-make-pancakes-not-stick-to-the-pan/ We did NOT use chocolate chips.
  15. I hate to brag but...I'm very talented in the area of Overthinking AND...a power house in the list making area. LOL. Thanks for the chuckle.
  16. Another "mixed" family (and baby vegan) here! Thanks for all of the responses to this post!!! I have been cooking two nights vegan for all, two nights something that is a bit different but basically the same and two nights cooking separate dinners. It is a LOT of planning ahead but...it's working so far. Looking to simplify!!!
  17. OMGOSH. How tragic! Praying for all and sending a hug for you.
  18. I think you've gotten a lot of advice but on of the most difficult parenting times for me was when my daughter was unhappy and unwell and away at college. Hugs to you. This too shall pass. Everything is so much harder when they're fatigued and unwell.
  19. This is so sad and unfortunately, kind of close to my heart. My closest friend is currently raising her grandson. She is older than I and this is something that we have discussed. Sigh...Praying for that sweet girl.
  20. Just wanted to add that I LOVE this thread! One can glean advice about nearly EVERYTHING from the Hive.
  21. Oh HAPPY DAY! THAT is the new cake store which opened near us. Now that it's Hive recommended, I just MUST go! LOL! It sounds like a lovely gift. Hint, hint if any of my five daughters are reading here...I'll share...perhaps (YEAH, RIGHT).
  22. FABULOUS gift. We recently had a small, specialty bundt store open near us and we're ALL wanting an excuse to try a cake or two!
