[Okay...Abeka Math vs. Saxon Math... Need some input please!]

Out of the two, I have only used Saxon. I have used Elementary and High School Saxon. It definitely does not have all the bells and whistles, but it is good, sound math. Personally, I believe that you will have to choose for yourself based on your child.

I believe that you know if your child will become frustrated by having to write out all the lessons. I have my children do some orally and some in writing. I use the workbook if I think they need more work with a certain topic.

 

I try to keep my children moving at a good pace, but DO require writing things out. Yet, I have learned that it's not worth the frustration to stop them midstream because I want them to write out everything. I guess we choose our battles carefully.
