  1. I'm glad I am not the only one who had trouble finding this thread! I thought these boards just did not like my searching skills! Thanks for the google search idea, Unsinkable! Now I know what to do next time I have trouble using the WTM search function.
  2. I use Mean Green. I spray spots with Mean Green and use a bristled brush to work it in. Then I might spray a little more Mean Green depending on how bad the spot is. I let them sit a while (no less than 10 minutes but usually longer while I am doing other laundry). I then soak them with other whites in detergent and a scoop of Oxyclean in the washing machine for about an hour (sometimes longer depending on when I need the washer for the next load of clothes) before finishing the wash cycle. Whoever invented white baseball pants did not have to wash them. I was not happy with my ds's coach's decision for white pants this year. Little did I know at the time that this would not be the only decision that I would not be happy with. I guess that should have been an indication of the things to come.
  3. :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: Kudos to you and your son! Thank you for sharing. Very encouraging!
  4. :seeya: I don't have any suggestions for Lent, but wanted to say, "Hi!"
  5. :seeya: I love Beth Moore! I haven't done a Beth Moore study in a while. I wanted to do the one on James this year alongside my kids (doing the Boy, Have I Got Problems by Kay Arthur) but it hasn't worked out. It was offered at church a couple of years ago, but I couldn't take it then, and it hasn't been offered again. Hopefully it will come back around soon. I guess I could see if I could borrow it but not sure if I could put into it what I would need/want to at this time. Having that accountability group always helps. Anyway, I wanted to say, "Hi!"
  6. Texas T, I will be praying for God's wisdom and direction for you and your dh in handling this tough situation. I know my first gut instinct would be to protect my child, in this case spiritually and emotionally.
  7. We are memorizing the book of James but in the NASB. I wonder if Amazon.com has it in that version. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing!
  8. I have been praying for wisdom for you and your dh and for your ds to be receptive to you and honest with you. I have prayed that God would give you the words to say and that His Spirit would bring about good communication between you all. Glad to hear this, Jean!
  9. Oh, Bethany, many hugs and prayers!!! You are so loved by the Father! Praying for His peace in your heart and that you will feel His loving presence with you especially at this time. And praying that He will help you forgive yourself. I want to mention the Bible study Forgiven and Set Free: A Post@ Bible Study by Linda Cochrane. A pregnancy resource center that I am involved in utilizes this Bible study. I would highly recommend it.
  10. I I can only imagine! I am thinking about your post about the communion run before church and having the stained tablecloths to wash afterward. Do you have another time besides Sunday as a dedicated time of rest? I know our church staff take a day off (if there is such a thing in ministry) another day during the week. With you being a pastor's wife along with the many other roles I am sure you fill, I imagine it is hard to find that time, but just wondering if there is some other time you get to rest. I will say that getting up and getting everyone ready and out the door for church is tiring. By the time I get home and we have lunch, I am usually exhausted! We go back to church in the evening. If I miss resting/napping/relaxing in some way on Sunday afternoons, I am really tired. So I have tried to protect that time at home on Sunday afternoons. Difficult to do sometimes, but I try. I have often wondered if Saturday would be a better actual "day of rest" but then I probably wouldn't get very much accomplished if I took both Saturday and Sunday "off".
