  1. Just got back from the movie...my thoughts exactly!
  2. DH, who works for Garmin, came home from work today and announced that the Garmin-Cervelo team will be at Garmin HQ at the end of August for a meet and greet. The best news is that DH and DS can cycle a 20 mile ride with the team!!!!!! DS is over the moon. He is now trying to figure out how to save money to buy a Garmin jersey for the team to sign.
  3. We bat for team Garmin-Cervelo since DH works for Garmin, but DS is the true cyclist in the family. He discussed the race with himself all day long and can hardly wait for the time trials tomorrow....
  4. We are doing both (all MCT and at least WWS - jury is still out on ALL b/c we found FLL a bit dry) although I believe they are both excellent stand-alone programs. We have gone all the way through WWE and FLL and through the Island level. I don't want to choose, so I am not.
  5. We are trying to follow it, but we are having a hard time finding coverage. Where are you following it?
  6. I can certainly see the reasoning for both classes as your junior and senior English classes. For the purposes of the test, though, do colleges give credit for both tests? My score on one of the tests was enough to get out of all of freshman English. What would a second test get me?
  7. Back in the Dark Ages when I took AP exams, we were encouraged to choose AP English Language or Literature. Now it seems that many students take both. Can someone bring me up to speed on the thinking behind taking both? Thanks!
  8. I am a member, and I don't get what to do at all. Can someone "pinterest for dummies" me?
  9. At this point I think it is too late to get tickets from the US - phase II ticket sales were this past week....
  10. I really wanted to go to the Olympics, but DH kept looking at me like I had two heads every time I mentioned it...
  11. When in doubt.... ask the Hive.... We were thinking about taking a family trip to Europe next summer, but we are debating about how much impact the Olympics will have on pricing. We feel that we can safely say that London prices will be elevated, as well as other UK destinations. We aren't sure about other parts of Europe though. Would you think that all of Europe would have elevated pricing for the summer? What say the hive?
  12. :iagree: My son is going to be pre-med, and this will be our path.....credit is the least of our concerns....
  13. yes - it is an Algebra II text, but it is more than can be covered in a standard school year of Algebra II.
  14. We had tea at the Orangery at Kensington Palace...not too fancy, but lovely nonetheless...
  15. I am in charge of teaching two classes next year in our co-op. The first is to 1-2 graders, and the subject is "The 50 States." The next is to 5-7 graders, and I am supposed to create a science fair experience. Each class is 11 weeks long. I would love any thoughts our suggestions you might have. Thanks so much!
  16. OFFICE HOURS!!! I was at my professors' doors all the time to get help. Out my constant visits, I developed good relationships with my professors. I believe that attaching a face to my name in my large classes made the difference in some of my grades....
  17. Wow - I didn't realize so many of us lived south of KC! We are in Leawood and the funnel cloud went right over us. Driving around this afternoon, I didn't see much damage though.... Thanks for thinking of us!
