  1. That's so cute! And like they would've let you talk to him even if he HAD been there! haha
  2. So funny! For a while, I actually thought the BANDS were in the radio studio! I remember thinking one day that logistically that really couldn't be how it was done! Duh.
  3. Hilarious! (But my first thought was, "What does the Air Force have to do with Valentine's Day clearance candy?" :D
  4. I always say something like that in my head on the "Has anyone..." threads!
  5. Thanks! That's interesting about the crumbling..ours doesn't do that. Yikes! I hadn't looked at the price.Guess it won't be on my birthday list after all!
  6. Looks like I've got an item for my birthday list... Thanks!
  7. Thank you for the information! It really sounds like something worth trying!
  8. Unfortunately, no. Thanks for the reply, though! Thank you! I'll check into that. Thanks! It helps to know you have first-hand experience!
  9. Thanks! I Googled it and it looks interesting! The thing is, I have knives sharp enough to cut the block, but I'd like something that would make it easier to get even slices.
  10. We buy Tillamook cheddar in 2 1/2 lb. blocks from Costco, and wire cheese slicers don't last long when used on them. I'd love to find a cheese plane that would do the job, but it seems the ones that are readily available aren't wide enough. The block is approx. 3 X 31/2 in. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!
  11. Mmmmm...that sounds delicious! I have a recipe that sounds similar--it's called Roasted Fan-shaped Potatoes, with the fan shape coming from that slicing technique. I think the recipe calls for sprinkling w/Parmesan, which makes lots of things even yummier! :drool5:
  12. I pierce them w/a fork a couple of times, rub the skin w/olive oil and kosher salt, and bake them on a stone bar pan at 350 for an hour--longer if they're larger than average. Yum! :drool5:
  13. Lol! I had my captain all figured out, then he went and got a civilian job! :D
  14. Lol! The ending I remember was: Ask me no more questions. I'll tell you no more lies. If you keep your big mouth shut You will catch no flies!
  15. Congratulations!! That's really exciting!! :hurray:
  16. I watched a little of both guys--sounds like great info and I thought they both did well!
  17. What do you do that tones your core? Not a darn thing.
  18. Oh, yeah! My older, super-cool sisters used this on me when I was around 10. I thought I was something special w/those blonde highlights in my dark brown hair! :001_cool:
  19. My dh is handy, too, and I'm very thankful! So is my next-door neighbor! She flagged him down at the end of our walk last Saturday and asked him if it would work to cut the legs off a decorative scrolly-thing she bought and have it just sit on its base. He said sure and that he'd do it for her. About 30 minutes later he was finished and she was super happy!
  20. Dh and I had a fun, unplanned outing at lunch today! I was intending to put his Valentine's card on the kitchen table last night after he went to bed, but forgot. I felt bad about it (he had remembered to leave one--and candy!--for me before he went to work), so I drove to his office to deliver his card and some candy and just happened to catch him driving out to go to a thrift store over lunch! I parked my car and got in w/him and we headed to the store. On the way there, we drove really close to the home of some friends of ours , so I texted the mom and said "just wanted to say hi--we're in the neighborhood." She texted back asking if we could meet her husband, their son, and her for a sandwich--their treat! So after the thrift store (where we scored new-with-tags $9 baseball pants for ds14), we met them at Jimmy Johns and had lunch and great visit! Dh and I sent candy and a Panera card to ds21 and gave the other 3 kids candy, plus 2 got basketball trading cards and 1 got a LEGO Micro set. They were happy. And dh always brings home chocolate covered strawberries for me from a lady at work who sells them as a church fundraiser, so I have that to look forward to!
  21. I'm sure that's a major understatement. I think of you and pray for you often, and I wish you enough grace and peace for each new day. :grouphug:
  22. I saw the "Your favorite flip flops" thread earlier today, and it was right under a post by ILiveInFlipFlops! It made me laugh!
