  5. I am on the hunt for some fun crafts/learning stuff for the kids, i wanted to link it to a daily study, to take some of the drudge away of book work, any thoughts. I have searched Oriental Trading, which I'm not too fond of, any thoughts? Thank yoU!!

My child didn't get fractions at all, it was a gaping hole, I was so on edge about it, my friend who also homeschoolers her two ones, lent me this book called Math Art, I sat with my two kids and did 2 of the fraction ones. It was like a lightbulb went off in his heard, you could see it, seriously recommend it.   9. Last year was my first year home schooling and I so wish that someone told me you can't be too prepared. I keep on hearing about deschooling, I understand the concept, but I have to say for anyone thinking about beginning the adventure, I would of been better off working one on one during the summer, rather than give them the summer of? What does anyone think the benefits of deschooling is, I took my kids out of school, because they weren't doing enough schooling?
  10. We use daily science, basically because the kids love doing them, and it's awesome, and they love the topics covered
  11. Pencils, the cheap $.01 cents ones break and break and break, I'm going to save my one cent this year
  12. I go by the TCR List (Teacher Created Lists), this way they have fun activities to tie in.
  13. Does anyone have any recommendation for a hands spelling program, my son never got it, but it's time we do.
  14. Last year, I listened to hubby and figured, I would prep as I went, little by little, I knew it wasn't working. So, my thought was I would prep during the summer. It's my 2nd year, my question to all of you, WAY more experienced than me, is that is this overkill? Should I really be spending all of this time, or am I missing the boat somewhere. I have 2 girls, 8 and 10.
