  1. There is this, which makes it look like side effects are more severe with the 100 Moderna than the 30 Pfizer. Unfortunately we are unable to compare to 50 Moderna and the sample size is small with no placebo.
  2. For my unvaccinated 8 year old, I'm saying when they get approved I'll leave more than 3 weeks between first and second shots unless we have a surge or something. Based on the Israeli data I expect I will boost my already-vaccinated tween son at 6 months.
  3. Those myocarditis numbers after 6 months look really good. I have a feeling my younger son will be spacing his closer to 12 than 3 weeks. We really need to look at revising the spacing for the under-20 males.
  4. You would be better off getting a Modern a booster, which could be on the discussion table next week. It might be worth waiting a few extra days...unless you have a contraindication on the mrna. If that's the case, carry on with the plan for J&J ASAP.
  5. A longer gap gives a higher and more durable antibody response. They might be insisting on 3-4 weeks if local levels are high and they are in a congregant living situation. The 3-4 week interval gets them to "full" immunity faster.
  6. But if the dad has some sort of pre existing issue don't you think he would have noticed after his first Pfizer or at least his second pfizer?
  7. It is hard to believe the parents are doing so poorly after what is effectively a booster since they were originally vaccinated in April. There has got to be more to this. Either these people are hyping up their symptoms for the legal case or they didn't really get the adult Pfizer dose. Modera dose? The flu dose of pfizer? Something's off.
  8. CVS is making you call to schedule it it's under 6 months. Maybe they changed it once they realized the loophole, or maybe it varies by state. I don't know what to do. I had Pfizer 5 and a half months ago, two of my kids are too young to vax, and I still won't meet eligibility for Pfizer at 6 months.
  9. I'm surprised there is no mention of Allen West on the Herman Cain Awards page yet. It's probably only a matter of time.
  10. Four and five year old kids accidentally got the adult covid shot instead of their flu shot. It's pretty concerning that 2 out of 2 are showing signs of heart problems afterwards. I know they (Pfizer) are only planning to give kids 1/3 the adult dose, but I think the Moderna kids trial is still using higher than the Pfizer adult dose. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/walgreens-employee-accused-of-administering-covid-vaccine-to-kids-instead-of-flu-shot/ar-AAPnL4P?li=BBnbfcL
  11. I think Gabby's dad got to him before the police and served up his own sentence. I don't think Brian's body will ever be found.
  12. I'm in the greatlakes/midwest and I had to look up what a fried pie was. We just call it a turnover. I've only ever had the prepackaged version ala McDonalds, which I think is disgusting. Maybe the homemade version is southern?
  13. I believe they mean compared to someone who gets covid but isn't pregnant. I'm basing this on other things I've read, not the article itself.
  14. @prairiewindmomma The botn kid gets my 8 yo a good seal with his glasses and I get a good seal from the botn adult with my glasses. We both have a little leakage with the bluna, but I agree with ksera on the adjuster; I broke one of the botn at by he adjuster.
  15. My unvaccinated kids will do trick or treating with KF94S and no indoor gatherings. We don't really do a Halloween celebration. I hope my younger kids can have first shots at least 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. If that happens my unvaccinated in-laws can visit from out of state. If not, it will just be my parents here with us. They are vaccinated plus mask and distance and should have boosters by then. Christmas is up in the air because we should be in the midst of a long distance relocation. Eta: I forgot about our annual Christmas Party at a swanky hotel. It was canceled last year but so far looks to be on for this year. We are tentatively planning to attend. We are fully vaccinated and I expect to be boosted 2 weeks before. The current policy is attendees show vaccination or recent proof of negative test. There are usually about 150 of us.
  16. We also don't know the risks for them if they contract covid after a single dose. It is frustrating that we don't have that data. I think that's what UK is doing for their adolescents though, so maybe it will be forthcoming. It wouldn't shock me if a single dose with a breakthrough case is lower risk for them, but that wouldn't help community spread very much. Our FDA panel claims we are only vaccinating adolescents to reduce the risk to THEM, so I don't see a booster getting approved without that clear, specific risk reduction.
  17. I saw a chart of antibody response and decline broken down by age. It was big age groups, but it was sufficiently different that I remember thinking I wouldn't need to be boosting my teen at the six month mark.

  19. Pfizer gave them data for kids but they haven't officially applied for EUA yet. It's unclear why.
  20. This is exciting. Idk if anti-vaxxers will take it, but I've already seen claims that it's actually ivermectin that they have to buy from big pharma.
  21. I saw that this morning and was so upset. My 10 yo dd will be getting on a plane and staying in a hotel in early Nov. I had decided that if we didn't get 5-11 yo approval in time I'd take her to a mass vax clinic and hope the person didn't look too closely at the form. Now I think I'm going to plead with the pedi for an off label dose instead.
  22. Have a day dedicated to the preschoolers-or a morning at least-so the air is fresh for them. Require masks for them. Anyone who is older and wishes to attend on the "mask day" may do so as well if they mask. That allows anyone who can't be vaccinated to keep themselves safe without long explanations.
  23. Following. I'd love to know too, for the same reason-2nd dose for an 8 yo boy.
  24. Because they need that to justify the enormous tantrum they are throwing over masks.
  25. Wow, what do you suppose the deal is with the uninsured? Do people not know it's free?
