  1. No problem. :) I was all excited that I actually knew an answer. hehehe Go me!
  2. Fourmother.... I just downloaded the trial version of StartWrite a couple days ago and it has HWT. *unless I'm totally losing my mind* Yes, I just double checked, it's there. It's listed as HWOT.
  3. I downloaded the trial version of StartWrite and it won't type , or ". I didn't try any other symbols, but is this just because it's the trial version? I would be using it for copywork so the punctuation is kinda important. TIA
  4. You could maybe do something different with your oldest in first. (Geography or Cultures of the world..something like that). Then start SOTW1 when she is in 2nd. Then when your second child gets to 1st grade they would just be on the Middle Ages. It would push back Early Modern/Modern a year. Just an idea to throw out there. :)
  5. I've been thinking about this too. (and I still have a couple years to decide) When my middle dd should be in 1st gr. my oldest will be doing SOTW4. So do I do I teach Modern and Ancients....OR.... Do I do something different for 1st grade...and start the history cycle in 2nd grade? (then they would both be on the Ancients.) Oh, and then I'll have to decide what to do 1-2 years after that when my youngest will be joining in history. Decisions, decisions!
  6. Oh, thank you Teresa! Now I won't have to draw it myself. yeah!
  7. I think I've seen the 'bed' picture before. Hmm.. I'll try and make my own little picture of that. ''b' makes a belly; 'd' a derriere' This made me giggle! :D I tried telling her that b was a belly but I never thought of derriere for d. I can see how it would work, especially if they find it funny.
  8. My daughter is having trouble telling 'b' and 'd' apart. I can't seem to think of any neat tricks to help her out. Any ideas? Thanks,
  9. We're not doing the handwriting either. I did find some worksheets online that go with 100ez lessons though. I was planning on using these but decided that we wouldn't work on handwriting yet. http://donnayoung.org/penmanship/100ez.htm HTH :)
  10. Mine is new, so it still needs work and more posts. =) But there it is - in my siggy. btw - I love looking at all the blogs! My husband told me that he's going to take the computer away. :D (that's what he thinks. hehe)
  11. Just thought I'd share. ok, maybe it's just the mood that dd is in - maybe not....but My almost 4 year old is currently on page 28 in book 1 and I just sat down with her to check out the online version. After doing it for a tiny bit she decided she was done and wanted to do the workbook instead. She said she likes it better (the workbook). Hmm. I'll try it again a different day - just to see if it's the mood she's in or if she really doesn't like doing it online. I was shocked b/c she normally loves doing things online. (like starfall.com and preschool games)
  12. Thank you for posting this! Right now we do the ETC book 1 orally (well, she'll 'x' or 'o' but not write out the words) - and my daughter loves being on the computer - so...I think this might be perfect for her. I just have to decide if I want to pay the extra $ for it. =)
