  1. There is a new book for The Bible Recap. My impression of it is that it's basically a print version of the podcast material. So you read the Bible passage for that day and then read the day's entry in the book. It's not in stock on Amazon right now, but my library has it on Hoopla, so I'm going to try that. I generally prefer print, so I may order the print book later. I am so bad at sticking with programs like this, but I have tried a few times to read through the Bible and I always stop. I really want to do it this time.
  2. I had been wanting life to slow down ..... I didn't quite plan for it to slow down THIS much!!!! I have definitely enjoyed the slower pace with my family.
  3. I think this is where we have landed. We have always wanted to live out in the country with lots of land. But the reality is that we are nearing 50 and we need to be realistic about how much work we will be willing and/or able to do. We'll see.

  6. Me, too! I have just discovered The Literary Life Podcast and I'm in love! I ordered a Commonplace book and I can't wait. The categories on the list are things I want to read, but am intimidated by. So I'm hoping having the guidance from the Podcast and knowing other people are joining will help me.

  8. Wins: I made GF cinnamon rolls today and they were so great! I have tried so many recipes in the last 5 years I've been GF and nothing was what I was hoping for. But the ones I made today are perfect!!!! Also, I had every single thing wrapped BEFORE Christmas Eve!!!!

  11. Over the summer, I started getting super-tired every day, as in bone-weary, can't function tired every afternoon. I have a history of Anxiety, and I thought I was adding Depression to the mix (because 2020). I was also having so much trouble focusing on anything - I thought that was Depression as well. I made an appt with my doctor (new PCP, who I didn't love, but my previous one left medicine and I needed someone quick so that I can continue to get all my meds refilled). Anyway, she ran some labs - everything was normal, except the iron. My Iron Saturation was 11 (15-55 is the lab range). Doc
  12. Don't even think twice about it. DO. IT. I've been getting the lunches for my kids. My kids are homeschooled, but the district has made it clear that the lunches are for ALL kids. When I was going through a depressive episode a couple of months ago, picking up the lunches helped so much. DO IT.
  13. We were all set to get started, but our state just went back to a limit of 25 people for indoor and outdoor events.

  15. I was lazy and didn’t do anything yesterday, so I walked 2 miles today. Back on track!!!

  17. Vitamins, Cat food, cat litter, and contacts for me are what I have stocked up on lately. Things I will probably start stocking up on: Toilet paper, Disinfecting wipes, jars of marinara sauce, meat for the freezer (we don't have a ton of freezer space, though), snacks for the kids, and I always stock up on the sodas everyone likes when they are on sale.
  18. I have a Micke and love it. But I am a fairly small adult. It wouldn't work for someone over 5'6", I'd say. The top is fairly small, also. It's really not quite enough space for me, but we have a weird-shaped room, so we had to get something small to squeeze in.

  20. All right, I'll pick up some wet food to try. Can I do a combo? I mean, I know I have to gradually change the food over. Could we work towards wet food only first thing in the morning and then a mix of wet and dry the rest of the day? I've never used wet food, so I don't really know how it works!!!
  21. No diarrhea. I haaaaate wet food, but at this point, I'm willing to try anything. Also, we have another cat, so whatever we do for one, we pretty much have to do for the other.
  22. Background: 5 year old indoor short-hair cat. She has always been a vomiter. We have done the slow feeding mat (which I learned about here), she gets 6 small meals a day, changed foods (probably 6 different dry foods, including 2 prescription ones), done bloodwork (normal), and done a fecal exam (normal). She still vomits - most of the time, it's right after she eats her first meal of the day, no matter how small that meal is. What else can we try? I am so over cleaning up cat puke.
