      It can be a good exercise in and of itself though! Gives you something to focus on right now.

  2. Contemplating what 70 x 7 is even supposed to mean in my life. :-/

      Forgiveness does not mean giving someone permission or opportunity to hurt you again. ((Hugs))

      There's a really short, really awesome book called The Cure. It has a great chapter on forgiveness- what it is and what it isn't. It's really one of the best books I've ever read.

      for me, it means prying my fingers up one at a time, and letting go of the anger/hatred/hurt.... and trusting that God will do that for me, too. i keep picturing that God has this wonderful gift for me, and is standing right there, trying to give it to me, and that i can't accept i until i open my hands by letting go of whatever it is i am hanging on to. it is letting the person/feeling go free... and really, what i am doing is freeing myself...

  3. Hey, Colleen,

    I was wondering if you've ever met my brother-in-law, Gerrit van Tol. He's an OV producer with a farm in La Center, WA (Close to Seattle, I think). It seems he is fairly active within OV. He and his wife, Karen, also grow and sell organic blueberries on a small scale that I've heard are good.

  4. Hey, I also just noticed that you have a birthday coming. Mine is March 1st. If we lived closer, we could "do lunch" to celebrate! :)

  5. We only visited WA once about 20 years ago, when Gerrit got married to Karen. He lost his first wife many years ago in a terrible car accident which also injured their small children as well. We were so glad that he found Karen and that they've made a nice life together.

    All the rest of the family is in southern California though, so when we go visiting we invariably head south.

    Last year we almost made it up there, but something happened at the dairy so....

    My dc would like to go, and maybe we can make it there this summer. My spring vacation is spoken for!

    Trip preparations for Europe are going along smoothly, and we're starting to really look forward to the adventure.

  6. What in the heck am I doing wrong?? I cannot get my photo to show, even using Gravatar.

      I see it! You are gorgeous, and I love your hair!

  7. Yes, I'm turning 40 this year too. I don't mind. For the most part, I'm happier being slightly more mature (and perhaps a teeny-tiny bit wiser?) than I was in my teens, twenties, or even thirties. My dh and I keep looking at each other and saying, "how come you're so much easier to get along with than you used to be?". I think he's mellowed over the years--he's sure it's that I'm nicer than I used to be. {grin}

    Gerrit is my husband's oldest brother (there are seven brothers).

    I guess I didn't mention it because...well, I dunno. It seemed maybe a bit presumptuous somehow.

    -like assuming all homeschoolers must know each other, or that all African-Americans know each other just because of the color of their skin. Washington is, after all, a sizable area. I didn't want to assume that because you both were organic dairy farmers in the same state, that you must know each other. Goofy, huh?
