  1. Educating the Whole-Hearted Child by Clay Clarkson and The Well-Trained MInd have been my most favorite homeschool books.
  2. I would agree with Mind Benders post, and we also added in Reading Detective from Critical Thinking. My daughter struggles with reading comprehension, so hopefully this will help. It's been buying me some time.
  3. I just received this offer in my email and wanted to share. It includes two different e-book packages based on the Classical and Charlotte Mason styles of teaching, and they are selling it for $12. Offer is good until Midnight Wednesday December 12. http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=AUkOx&m=Io_MCTCceAYxun&b=.x6xBMIuqTA3WZewOGmMbw or http://www.wholesomechildhood.com/12-12-12/ Blessings, HeatherinTenn
  4. Is it "Across the Curriculum with Favorite Authors" by Teacher Created Materials? HTH HeatherinTenn
  5. It was my dad that passed away in July as well. I spent the 6 weeks helping my mom get stuff taken care of. They were married 46 years. He had cancer, so we knew it was coming, but you're still never prepared. Blessings to you! HeatherinTenn
  6. Due to a family death, I was in California for six weeks. Just got back last Monday. Spent all last week getting the house back in order and trying to find my school room :001_smile:. Well, I ordered my books for this year, and they are coming today. I am so excited. I don't know about anybody else, but I love receiving packages in the mail, especially packages containing new curriculum. Just wanted to share. I hope everyone has had a fabulous start to their school year. Blessings! HeatherinTenn
  7. We started out using MFW Adventures last year and then I added HOD Bigger, because it was easier to bring my younger DS into it. We've loved it. I used the older grade extensions for my dd. If I hadn't needed to combine them, I would have just stayed with MFW though. They are both excellent programs, and my children enjoyed them. HeatherinTenn
  8. I've used SSRW with both of my children, and then we started using First Language Lessons, and Writing with Ease. My dd 9, flew threw SSRW, and took to the rest easily, but my ds 8 took longer. He doesn't like to write (still doesn't). He enjoyed FLL, because we did that orally, but WWE has taken him longer to enjoy. I am just starting AAS with him this year, because I want to reinforce the rules with him, and he has been kind of a lazy reader. HeatherinTenn
  9. Has anybody tried accessing the donpotter.net website recently. I went there today looking for the Blend Phonics book, and the website is gone. Thank you. HeatherinTenn
  10. They have not been motorized projects. Probably too basic for what you are looking for. Fun for my little guy though!:) Heather
  11. Have you heard of the Lego Club for Homeschoolers? Here is the link. You can read all about them on the website. It's free, and they are very organized. It's a live webcast that your child watches and builds along with the instructor. They send you the supply list ahead of time, so that you can get all of your legos together. They meet every Monday live, but you can view the recording at a later date as well. Hope this Helps! http://www.currclick.com/product/43644/Lego-Club-for-Homeschoolers?it=1 Heather
  12. This has been so helpful to me. I am totally using this plan. I sometimes have to work outside the home, and the homeschooling does not get done on those days. Thank you for sharing. Heather
  13. Definitely The Merchant of Venice. It's one of my favorites. I was lucky enough in college to see it live with Hal Holbrook playing Shylock. He was perfect.
