  1. DD 14 Horace: Odes (she loves Horace) My Story by Elizabeth Smart Favorite Poems Old and New, Helen Ferris, ed.
  2. My DD is taking Latin 1 with Lukeion right now and we are very impressed with them. The class is very rigorous and my daughter is enjoying the class and learning so much. We are secular and although I'm sure the Lukeion instructors are Christian, they seem to keep religion out of their classes. HTH :-)
  3. I just wanted to let you know that Heritage Resources carries many of the books mentioned by cbollin. Here's the link: http://www.heritageresources.ca/cat_list.asp?id=233
  4. We love Lukeion Latin. DD 14 is taking her first outsourced course with them and she has already learned so much about scheduling her time, studying and perservering, as well as the Latin of course.
  5. Yes, if they make a mistake they have to correct it. They do this for all subjects, except for tests, and for those I make sure to point out what they did wrong.
  6. About 4000, and I purge them regularly. I don't have many clothes, and my furniture is very minimal, but I've got to have my books.
  7. Does it have to be physics? Could he take another science that isn't so mathy, like Geology or Environmental Science?
  8. I definitely would have worked on DD's handwriting more. What horrible chicken scratching. Thankfully she can type, so at least that's a saving grace. We have been HSing 7 years now. Looking back, I don't think I would have changed too much. WTM was published the year DD was born, so there weren't all the classical materials that are available now. I'm looking forward to using WWE from the start with my younger ones, as well as R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey. I'm just glad to have the chance to do this two more times. :) Hopefully, by the time I'm done with my kids I'll be able to start teaching the grandkids. ;)
  9. DD12 won the local science fair on Saturday. She won the gold medal for the Grade 6/Grade 7 age group AND the Best of Fair trophy. This is the first Science Fair for her, so we are all thrilled, and it sure made my February.
  10. Me! I was due 2 days ago, so I guess we already scratched that itch. This is our first boy, and we're very excited to meet him! _______________________________ Lana, Mom to DD11 & DD3
  11. Here's another plug for Lively Latin. We started with Minimus, which DD enjoyed, but didn't learn that much. We have been very happy with Lively Latin. DD loves it and begs to do Latin - it is one of her favorite subjects. I think she's learned a lot too. Hopefully LL 2 will be complete soon, as we will probably need it this fall. Lana
  12. I went with the hard copy. It includes the CD as well if you need to print another copy. I didn't want to have to print all the time. As a PP said, it is easy to just grab the book and go teach. BTW, my DD loves it. Lana
  13. Well, this year I'm due to have a baby boy on Father's Day. So I guess that will be his big present, LOL :). Our girls will of course make him cards too. Lana
  14. Um, whatever DH is making at any given time? Sorry, I'm no help. DH has made lots and then not so much in the past, and it always seems to be enough for us. As long as I've got money for HS books and food, we're fine. ;) Lana
