Thanks ladies! I really appreciate the comments and supportive suggestions. I really need to pray and search my heart for a way to talk to her without sounding self righteous. I want her to be able to talk to me without feeling the need to defend herself or her actions. Blessings, Amanda -
My dh has been in the military for 21 years and we've never had a case of ("you are going here." "no, you are going there". "how does "over here sound". "we definitely want you there"). What branch of the service are you in? I guess that probably makes a difference. We solved alot of the homeschooling issues by spending 12 years overseas. There are no rules to govern homeschooling overseas. Is overseas an option? Moving never stresses me out, but I suppose that's because I love to move. I love the excitement involved with the unknown. plus its the only time I get to really purge all the useless stuff I have laying all over the houses. I guess I"m not really much help. Sorry. As far as the homeschooling in other states go; do some research on line once you find out where you're going. Most bases have homeschool groups and the ladies at your new base will be able to help you out with the state laws and getting in the required paperwork. Blessings,Amanda Blessings, Amanda

Thanks for the imput ladies. I really think I need to talk to her about this just in case there is some kind of self doubt or depression going on with her. Blessings, Amanda -
O.K., so I have this friend who has a 9 month old son. He's an only child and she doesn't work. She's decided that he's not developing social skills fast enough and has decided to put him in daycare Monday - Friday 7:30-4:30 so he can get "social skill." I"m so frustrated with her for doing this. DH thinks I'm oversensitive to the daycare issues because our children have never been in daycare. He said it's common for parents to have there kids in daycare so they can have "free time." I have 6 kids so I totally understand the need for "free time", but he's 9 months old. Either way it's not really my business what she does with her son, so why can't I get over it? Blessings, Amanda

I'll be praying for your family. DH has been in the Air Force for 21 years and has no intention of getting out soon. It's never easy to say good-bye, but the pride I feel for him when he boards his plane will last forever. I agree with the others, you really should go to his graduation if it's at all possible. I was military before children and my parents came to my graduation. I was so honored that they were there. Blessings, Amanda

LOL! He sounds like my dh. He always tells the kids, "I have three rules in this house." Rule 1: NEVER hit a girl. I don't care what she does to you. ( I have 5 boys and 1 girl) Rule 2: If it's not yours don't touch it. Rule 3: Mom's always right. Blessings, Amanda -
When my grandmother passed away she left a small amount to each of the grandchildren, but her will stated that the money must be used for the family. It specifically stated that we were to have "fun" with the money and not pay off bills, so we took a family trip to Disneyland and bought two computers for the school room.

That's what I did when my daughter did U.S. History her Junior year. We used Core 100 as written for my freshman son, and did Core 100 History with Core 400 Literature for my daughter. We also supplemented with the Ken Burns Civil War series, the Teaching Co U.S. History Dvd's and supplemental reading from A Patriot's History of the United States. I also believe ithat Hewitt has a Hakim syllabus which includes tests for each book and a list of projects to be completed for each semester. Blessings, Amanda
