  1. Slow progress today.. and not going to have the time to get to all the school stuff before dd needs to leave... But I shoveled the driveway, walkway, and the porch... and then it started snowing again. :glare:
  2. Still feeling yucky.. but trying to power through. Poor Ds has it too, and worse than me. :ack2: Trying to get a 3yo to remember to cover their coughs... lol B/L/D School with dd (haven't had school since last Wednesday? so we need to get crackin) everything would be nice but I'm just aiming for Math, RA and or IR, History and maybe English 1 on 1 w/Ds Laundry (3 loads down) Pick up house Have dd ready to be picked up by aunt Relax on the couch and read I'll try to get more done but if I get to everything on this list I will be happy. Hoping to add litter box & Vacuum before I start relaxing.
  3. Nothing is getting accomplished today. I'm feeling yucky.. ds is on the couch sick and dd slept until almost noon. Not like her at ALL so I knew she needed it. Dh is on night shift this week so he's still asleep and I can't go to the store until he wakes up. I should be doing something but here I sit.
  4. OT.. kind of.. but I'm surprised to see so many people that don't like Caesar. lol Dh and I just started watching his shows a few weeks ago and we were instantly hooked. Every time he works his magic on a dog dh and I are always like "AHHHHH How does he do it!? He's a wizard!"
  5. This. Also.. I'm sure I'm going to say something wrong here.. but when it comes to the soft mouth with my current dog.. we have never had to train her. She knows. If it was an area she struggled with then yes, she would need worked with. She is gentle with us in everything she does. Even tug of war.. she pulls harder with dh than anyone but as soon as my 3YO walks up to play with her she tugs so gently. It's adorable how quickly she goes from normal strength to babying when need be. She is very gentle and has a maternal type attitude to young ones. Hopefully this doesn't make me a "bad owner" but we have barely had to "train" her with anything. We worked with her on housebreaking for maybe 1-2 days and then she never had another incident. She's a little excited on the leash-which is what I'm working with her on now. But she's never been one to jump on people (like my other dogs) or get too excited when guests come over. I open the door she stays about 10 ft away. She will not come greet anyone until I tell her it's okay. If I know someone doesn't like dogs (most of our company, it seems) I tell her "Nya, go to bed" and she goes. She will sit there for the duration of their visit and not bother anyone. Everyone always tells me "Wow, how have you trained your dog to do that?" I can't take one ounce of credit. I just tell her and she listens. If company calls for her to come over she will often look at me like "Can I go, mom?" She just has such a good nature. This is why I do not and will not ever support a ban on a specific breed. She is registered as a pit mix.
  6. I always tell myself money would solve all of our problems. We currently live with my mother and have for a while now. Money is the #1 stressor in my life. I am happy with my husband, my kids, my day-to-day life. So I do not think money would cause me to be happier- but would remove stress & anxiety causing me to be happier MORE of the time. Literally the ONLY things that stress me out can always be traced back to worrying about money. I always fantasize about hitting the lottery and how it would feel to totally have that burden erased forever! I always think it wouldn't change me-we've experienced a foreclosure, stress from unreliable vehicles, I actually slept on the FLOOR of my mothers house for over a year. Now, we are so much better off than that now-and it gives me perspective. But I am not blind to human weaknesses and I'm sure even if we hit the lottery (we don't even play) eventually I would end up taking it for granted in some way and find something else to stress over. My old vehicle caused me so much stress.. I never wanted to go anywhere because I was afraid of not being able to get home. Buy a new car and it doesn't take long before I forget how BAD I used to feel wishing I could have a car like I do now. I remember that often and stay appreciative, but I catch myself taking it for granted more often than I imagined I would. I feel the same way about having our money worries taken away. Eventually I would find something else to have anxiety over. I'd definitely still take the millions though!
  7. I definitely agree PP, it depends on the person and how they go about it. I have two family members that sell (one sells Scentsy, the other It works!) and neither are the kind that ram it down your throat or message ASKING you to buy or come to a party. I NEVER bought anything from anyone-but have since make a few small purchases through my cousin for Scentsy. She doesn't have to advertise.. I know if I want Scentsy I buy from her.. she's "the Scentsy lady" to me, hah. I feel like if people want to buy something, they know you sell it, they will come to you. Maybe it's just my social anxiety but I can't stand pushy sales people. Like the Kirby guys that stayed at the house for 4-5 hours and wouldn't leave/take no for an answer. Finally Dh came home and made them leave. I still have flashbacks to that horrrrrible evening every time I run my sweeper :( lol (Which is a DYSON-btw! ;) )
  8. Well right now it's messy bun, baggie hoodie, and dh's sweatpants :p But later when I go to the store it will probably be messy bun, smaller hoodie, and JEANS (and only because my best fitting pair of yoga pants are dirty... although I could wait to leave and wash them first, hmm) Note to self: buy another pair of yoga pants at the store.
  9. I finally hit the triple digits! I'm down 100 pounds! Happy Day! Okay, anyway.. lol Not feeling that great (sore throat) but not too much going on today.. Make grocery list/meal plan Go to the store School with dd Pick up around house Start laundry Email Co-op leader Plan bills with dh I feel like there's another errand I need to run.. hmm... We'll see!
  10. It aggravates me because they advertise these awesome results from taking some kind of supplements and slapping a wrap on. I've lost 100 pounds (as of today actually, happy dance!) but it's just a slap in the face. No, that won't work long term.. and I don't have respect for people looking for an easy way out. I have looked at the wraps, cellulite & stretch mark stuff to help my mommy belly... but I tell myself it's a pipe dream and I can't afford it. lol
  11. Oi! And a new huge one is the It Works! stuff... & FB is free advertising. If one more chick from high school friend requests and messages me about trying her freaking wraps.... :glare:
  12. My Steelers aren't in it so I have zero interest. ETA: Although I do miss the Super Bowl food. Someone eat some for me!
  13. Harry Potter (I still reread them all multiple times a year.. proud Potterhead!) Outlander I also enjoyed The Strain trilogy Also.. not at all my usual genre but I read a book over summer called The Island and I finished it in one sitting. I used to read so much and I remember so many page turners.. but when I try to think of them I draw a blank! Ah! But thanks to this thread I just came home from the library with an arm full of books. :) I'm really excited for The Martian and Bird Box!
  14. I have had a poodle, a cocker spaniel, and a beagle/german shep mix... All of them showed attitude at least on one occasion. The last two actually snapped at children (the cocker in her old age, and the beagle at my dd-we rehomed him-long story.) Now I have a lab/pit mix (it's very obvious to others what she is-she has the pit bull face). Sweetest dog I have ever had in my LIFE. I never thought a dog could replace my spaniel.. and I do miss her still, but my pit mix is without a doubt the most loving, gentle and calm dog I have ever had. She has my heart. She is 75 pounds of pure scaredy cat. She was a rescue and I always tell my dh I feel so bad for her because I feel like she would die at the hands of some abuser than fight to stand up for herself. She was so pitiful when we first got her. Anyway.. that's 4 different breeds of dogs and the same owner. My pit mix is the dog I would trust the most out of all of them. The whole pit bulls are bad thing really gets old. I've seen more aggressive small dogs than anything (Chihuahuas! lol) I get that IF A pit bull would attack yes, they would do more damage--but to say they will be more likely to attack? I don't buy it. (I'm specifically talking about the nature of the dog-not counting the impact a bad owner can have--that's a different story.) ETA: I am also not saying I blindly trust any pit bull. If I saw a stray walking down the road I would avoid it at all costs and make sure my kids know to do the same. However, I would do the same with ANY stray dog. One should always exercise caution around an unknown animal, regardless of breed.)
  15. Church Pick up a little from the party Might take a bath ... but that's IT. Evening church
  16. Done.. I made it to everything except styling dd's hair and cleaning our bedroom. We had her party earlier and she's currently upstairs watching Goosebumps very LOUDLY with 4 of her little friends :) Sounds like they are having a blast.. but little brother keeps sneaking in. lol Dh and I are going to relax the rest of the night. YAY. Also accomplished booking the condo for a girls weekend trip this summer with my best friend. Good day :)
  17. I only buy jeans from Old Navy. It used to be PacSun but they are no longer here. Ohhh I miss those jeans. Anyway, I loathe skinny jeans and Old Navy is pretty much the only place around here that don't exclusively sell skinnys. Plus, their jeans are cute and affordable.
  18. Whew... here we go... Pick up all the junk around the house Pooper scoop the yard before guests arrive Have dd take shower- do something cute with her hair ALL laundry- wash extra blankets with the good detergent for the sleepover Vacuum couches & febreeze them.. then keep dog OFF them :p Clean toilet & bathroom counter Give Nya a bath, wash her blankie, febreeze her doggie bed Clean windows Windex appliances Dust the house Dishes & scrub sink Clean kitchen and wash countertops Clean up toy area in school room (maybe delegate to kids) Clean our bedroom Have dd clean her room Vacuum house Mop-I got a new swiffer! So excited to use it.. my last one broke months ago. Decorate Scent house Pick up cake at 2 Let Nya out to potty before guests arrive-Ideally I'd love to get a walk in for her.. Make honey do list for Dh which will start with removing the gigantic box from the upstairs hallway I know I'm forgetting something...
  19. Trends that need to die.. hmm.. those super high wasted pants. They wear them with short tops. Just.. no. I've even seen bathing suits with the high wasted bottoms. Like way above your belly button. They would have to be the most unflattering thing ever. I just can't.
  20. As I sit here with my messy bun and leggings.. I have to admit I think man buns are hot.. and my hubby has a beard. :p But not a "hipster" one. P.S. Lost is AMAZING.. Sayid is nice.. but Jack is my man ;)
  21. Didn't make it to any school today... But currently cleaning and doing laundry before putting the kids to bed, relaxing & waiting for dh to get home from work. Oh, and making out quite the to-do list for tomorrow. Going to need more red bull. See everyone tomorrow! :)
  22. Glad you and your dog are okay. This makes me nervous about taking my Nya to the dog park for the first time. We've been really excited for a while now.. but I'm nervous with her around other dogs anyway. She is the sweetest lab/PIT mix ever and is scared of everything! I spent 20 minutes trying to get her into the vets office because there was a little 5lb dog by the door  She's 75 lbs! I'm not worried about her... just the other dogs.
