  1. 1) you've read more homeschool catalogs than books in the last two months, or even newspaper articles. 2) you cry when opening Sonlight's new catalog, because they have again left out book descriptions, and you also hate the catalog's layout. 3) you've had more than 13 tabs open, daily-each to a different scope & sequence. 4) you...admit....on a public forum....that you dreamt about a homeschool convention, even though you've never been to one. 5) you decide to schedule a "school planning day" for your kids, because that is the only way they will also look at those curriculum catalogs. :o
  2. I would be careful regarding switching math programs. A big mistake I've made and have seen other hsers make, is switching, in order to make school, or a part of, more enjoyable. I'm not opposed to school being enjoyable, but I don't see that as reason enough to switch curriculum. To make math more fun, consider adding in Life of Fred or maybe video teaching by Khan Academy. Some Language Art programs I'm considering for my 7th grader-- Easy Grammar Hake Grammar & Writing Essentials in Writing Jump In! Science idea-- Paradigm Accelerated Curriculum (PAC) Science Mysteries Biology 101 Sonlight's Science

  4. After taking our time ( 3 yrs) working through SL's American History Core D then E, I need to plan 7th and 8th to cover world history. I''m considering the following for spines. Preferably, what we use is mostly independent and easy to schedule over two years. -Transitions from Veritas Press (uses Pages of History) -SOTW 1& 2 for 7th gr., 3 & 4 for 8th gr. We will plan to use the Lit from SL core G & H. Thanks in advance for any input! :)
