  1. I wash all my towels together. They are washed on hot with bleach. Then dried on hot. I don't think much can survive that.
  2. No words just :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
  3. :grouphug::grouphug: Reading your posts here are a couple of thoughts: Change peds. I don't care how well respected they are or how educated. If they don't listen to your concerns they have no value to you. Mix a a capfull of yellow listerine in a basin of warm water and wipe him down. It will take away all the urine odor. When I worked at the hospital we used this on the little old people with bad private odors. Nothing works better:) It sounds strange but it does work and is not harmful. I don't know if this is possible or not but my my niece was having terrible behavior problems she went to see a neurodevelopmental psychologist. He was able to do a lot of testing (like 3 eight hour days) and at the end had a very clear idea of what the problem was as well as ideas on how to treat. For my niece she was displaying a lot of the same behaviors and was diagnosed as autistic with a few other things thrown in.
  4. Not just for homeschooling but as a general thing for annoying people I use "how very pleasant for you" with a syrupy smile. It really is a conversation stopper.
  5. Vacuum, sweep, make sure your windows are clean and bake cookies. My mom was a professional house cleaner for several years. People assume a house is very clean if there are vacuum lines in the carpet and the windows are clean. It shows that your home is really well cared for. My sisters real estate agent told her to bake cookies on the days she was showing the house (even if they are just slice and bake) because most people associate the smell of cookies baking with good memories.
  6. My sister did this in her sons room. It looks great! Has held up well and is easy to clean. It is hard on the feet and gets chilly in the winter but a nice area rug helps.
  7. You won't regret it. I do a yearly massive house purge and have only missed on or two items in the last 4 years. I regret letting unused things take up space for long periods of time more. :001_smile:
  8. My son was a micro preemie who developed a severe oral aversion. He had a speech therapist come to the home once a week for two years. He now eats about 50% of his calories and the rest is tube fed. We had OT for a bit but ds did much better for the ST. It was a personality issue.
  9. I work full time as a hospice nurse on the weekends. This way I can be with the children Monday thru Friday and dh is with them on the weekends. Because of ds medical issues this works well for us. Our schedule is what helped us decide to homeschool.
  10. :grouphug: Its a sign that its time to go on vacation!
  11. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I'm sorry you had this happen to you.
  12. I would also choose Hobby Lobby. The stores have a better selection.
  13. I would season the chicken with garlic, onion and pepper all go well with ranch drsg.
  14. Where I live there are many families that have no running water and live in homes with dirt floors. My husbands co worker is a minister that runs a charity to that gives to those in need. He is always asking for beds and other household things. Last month they had a family of 6 that all slept on the floor and only had two plates and spoons.
  15. Bet Me by Jennifer Cruisie Magic Burns by Illona Andrews. Both are favorite books I'm reading again.
  16. Our cats do this when they have bladder infections (or when they are mad).
  17. My son has a lot of gi issues. We finally found a great gi doctor in Winston-Salem who specializes in gastric motility. Ds had been followed by a regular gi doctor for several years but we never saw any improvement until we found the right gi specialist.
  18. I do this all the time. It works great. I've had some in my freezer for about 6months without problems.
  19. When we are unmotivated to clean I set the kitchen timer for 15 or 30 minutes. We clean as much as we can in that time. Its a race to see who can do more with stickers for the winners. Then I set the timer for the same amount of time to do fun stuff as a reward for the work. We repeat this as often as necessary. This is also how I tackle big cleaning projects.
  20. Cool compresses or ice for a few minutes takes the itches away.
