  1. When I was a kid i slept on a shower curtin and two sheets.  I didnt have pull up. the bed was always protected and you can get them for a few bucks now a days so dont bring it home throw away.  That is what we did from my dd at disnesy at  when she was 3.  She had a pull up a washable chuck (pee sheet) and a shower curtian

the kids that are older than 10 have they been checked for sleep apnea?

  2. We have open up the front door and asked them to pick it up that it isnt safe for our dog or our child to leave their dog mess in our yard and offered them a bag.  Only one person got hostile.  She was in her 50s/ early 60s and not disabled and said it was our yard our problem (this was not her first time we asked to  pick up).  So we watch where she walked to and called City Hall and ask how to handle the situation and her address.  They sent a letter to her about the laws and how it has come to their attention there were pet owners in the area no taking care of pet waste so they would be on patrol and those caught not picking up or having their animal off leash would pay a hefty fine. Animal control and the Health department were around daily instead of randomly for about 60days.  We must not have been the only one complaining but the only dog we have to worry about is the neighbors and well they are always going to let the kids and dogs free range but at least the dog only goes in the one area my dd has no interest in playing

  3. My dd was 10mos when she had her reaction to peanut butter. I was making peanut butter cookies and had some on my hands when I had to pick her up after a fall and screaming (daddy was working nights and it was in the middle of the day) She got a rash every where I touched her.  Called the exchange and the stupid on call dr said babies cant be allergic to it her their breast feeding moms are eating it. UM wrong she was off the charts allergic.  The rash went away on its own after a few hours.  That monday morning I called an allergist who wouldnt see her till she was over a year.  She ended up with LOTS of food allergies.

  4. Emotional issues could be from the lack of quality sleep then the less sleep the more the immune system is down and it because a cycle because if you are sick you dont sleep well.

I would take my allergy daughter in if she was waking up alot at night.  She is a sleeper who needs at least 12 hrs or she is a crabby crabby emotional mess

  5. Sorry just getting back to this.  There are all kinds of this we can find on a sleep test.  We have found siezes and heart issues that was causing the patient to not get rest and didnt know they had.

They will put 7 wires in the hair to monitor brain waves.  There are 5 stages of sleep 1 the drowsy stage 2 is where a lot of time is spent stage three or deep sleep is where kids grow and body is rested and REM is the most active stage where you body paralizes and then is restored.

One behind each ear as a reference wire

6 on your face to monitor eye movement and teeth grinding and paralisis

2 to 3 on your chest for your heart monitoring

2 wires on each leg to see if there is something going on with them

a pulse ox on your finger so that we can see the heart rate and the blood oxygen level

a snore mic on the neck to pick up any vibration

and then a canula in the nose to monitor air flow to see each breath

and a belt on the belly and one on the chest to monitor effort (you can also get some leads on your rib cage depending on the lab for effort)

As for Central sleep apnea.  The current treatment is bilevel support with a back up rate or ASV if that does not correct it.

It is an easy test but dont think you are going to get a great night sleep.

  6. We did FLL 3 last year when she was 6 and she thought it more busy work. But she start reading at 3 on her own.  Friends of ours went more grade level. We are of the thought do what works best for each child.  We found the book at Barnes and Noble and were able to look things out there.  We know of people were able to check things out at their library.  There is also no shame in going faster with one and slower with the other using the same level especially if the one that is working ahead knows that.

    Good luck

  7. we have lots of allergies.  What allergies outside of gluten and what type of meal do you need to provide?

Lunch: Soup safe bread and salad. veggies with protein dip or fish and salad.  Sunflower butter sammy with safe chips and safe granola.  There are lots of options

Dinner salad meat potato and safe veggie and safe bread

    drink water

allergies are a tricky thing depending on what it is.  Corn gluten and soy are not cut and dry on how people react.

  8. I run sleep studies. They effect the the time to fall asleep and if you are not there for insomnia and it does affect other meds there is no harm in taking. If you can't sleep thru the noises/wires it is a blown test.

In the labs I have worked for (all accreddited) parents have own bed in room (never sleep with child once they fall asleep lay in your own bed you movements effect test)

  9. With her other health issues I would be very very concerned about any dose of melatonin for her in her situation.  If your insurance allows it go and talk to a sleep professional.

Exercise diet and a regular schedule with limited  (as in rare if ever) various to her schedule.  Sometimes sleep training works (it does take a while) and sometimes there is another sleep issue a sleep test can and does diagnose more than apnea.  It is completely possible she is having silent seizures at sleep onset.

    Good luck

  10. I have both the work book and the hardcover teacher book so I know what you are talking about.

I also assume you are trying to not reinvent the wheel.  I know that Classical house has copy work and narration and she wrote the program with SWB teachings.  I am not sure if it is what you are looking for but it is free

I dont see why or it being to hard to do that with apologia

Sorry I am not being too helpful..
