  1. WOW! Expensive but it works. Perhaps you could contact the company and see if they need a testimonial spokesperson. Yes it breaks glass, if my 7 yo can break a sliding glass door you will be able to break glass in an emergency.
  2. I emailed Sonic trying to get a straight answer if they work for tips or not. Never did get an answer. I often lately have been paying with my debit card and so I don't tip but they don't offer that as an option if you pay with your cc or debit card. So Yes if I pay cash usually yes. If I pay debit no.
  3. Thank you for the compliment. Our families are encouraged to read scriptures together, pray together, attend church together, play together, work together and hold family home evening (Monday night were do we things together as a family and have a short lesson and maybe sing some songs and have a snack). We spend time together and love one another. I have met families of other faiths whose kids are well behaved too, but those would be the things Mormon families do to build relationships with children.
  4. Thank you for asking. Yes we believe "Adam fell that men might be and men are that they might have joy." 2 Nephi 2:27. As I looked up stuff on LDS.org to answer you better, I realized that part of our knowledge and understanding comes from our latter day prophets and The Book of Mormon and The Pearl of Great Price. The writer was trying to explain our beliefs quoting scriptures familiar to all from the Bible. While I know he was trying to be helpful because we believe in more than the Bible sometimes our beliefs are expanded by our belief latter-day prophets, and additional scripture with compliments the bible. From LDS.org Commandments in the Garden The Lord gave Adam and Eve commandments in the Garden of Eden, two of which were to multiply and replenish the earth (see Gen. 1:28) and to not partake of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil (see Gen. 2:17). These two commandments were designed to place Adam and Eve in a position where they had to make a choice. President Smith taught: “The Lord said to Adam that if he wished to remain as he was in the garden, then he was not to eat the fruit, but if he desired to eat it and partake of death he was at liberty to do so.†4 Faced with this dilemma, Adam and Eve chose death—both physical and spiritual—which opened the door for themselves and their posterity to gain knowledge and experience and to participate in the Father’s plan of happiness leading to eternal life. Here is a link to the whole article.
  5. When my brother passed it was Sunday evening till Saturday funeral. He died in MO and we had to wait while he was embalmed then he was transfered to TX via an my parents SUV to the funeral home down here. Then viewing on Friday. Funeral on Sat. When my Grandma died on Christmas it was New Years Eve for her funeral and that was tricky with weekends and holidays. Not to mention us traveling by car avoiding snow storms and traveling home.
  6. I think you have to be in US but I don't think the city really matters. ;)
  7. Again no experience but I would think a learn to knit or crochet craft kit might be fun. Or small sewing/embrodairy kit.
  8. :iagree: I got a finger sucker this go around. All my other babies used me as a pacifier. We simply never had pacifers, if the baby was fussy we nursed. My current guy will suck his fingers till the cows come home.
  9. You have gotten some great advice. You need to keep in mind too when baby first comes you are engorged and have tons of milk. After awhile things settle down and you won't feel as large, your bOOks might feel like there is not milk but there still is, but your body is still making just what your need. Birth control pills can also make a drop in your milk. Be sure you are counting diapers when you think your milk supply may be low, it might surprise you. I know with my current very laid back baby who doesn't seem to nurse as much I was worrying till I started counting diapers for a day or two. Yes he was fine, despite what I thought was infrequent nursing and very soft bOOks. You can do this! LLL is great for support or find some breastfeeding friends from church or homeschool group to support your efforts.
  10. Got it in my email this morning. Only good on the $199 Kindle Fires. So your total is $169 for the Kindle Fire and you will receive $5 for Amazon movies. $30 off
  11. For my recent chigger bites I have used Melrose oil. It cuts the need to scratch and my bites are healed quickly. I have to apply it about 3 times a day but so worth it. Can't stand chiggers.
  12. Love bookcases and I am plotting building more. Just got a coffee table after 13 years of marriage without one. Love having a place for board games in my living room!
  13. I have avid lego builders. For Christmas we got a set for the oldest. They all play with it. I did make a big deal about taking care of it and putting all the pieces back. So far so good. Last Friday we had friends over and the boy interest in just about everything was waning. I suggested Snap circuits and they happily played for quite some time. My boys have favorite things they build over and over. And they were having fun with salt water and making a circuit work. I am not quite sure it is their play but no it isn't legos. We do enjoy them and it is more of an occasional pull out and play with toy than every surface of the room is covered in legos and creations made from legos and things in the process of being made form legos and if somebody has a spare minute the legos end up in their hands. It does require more cooperative play vs parallel play if it is being play with in a group and I think that is a good thing. My boys keep asking for the Rover Snap Circuit kit. So they like them.
  14. I vote that perhaps the mom is doing the wait and see approach. I know when I had a 2 yo get burned we waited a day or two as I don't think we realized how severe it was. We kept the area clean and gave pain meds. His doctor is still amazed at how well it healed. We did see her and get silverdene but it was a few days later. My first reaction for things is not to rush to the ER. Perhaps this mom is the same way. One thing that we did use was the Vet wrap tape and non stick pads with the silverdene. it was a great combo to keep the area free from dirt. Perhaps you might suggest that as a great coverage, over some pads to keep the dirt out.
  15. Yep newborn stage has been easy this spring. I did give myself time off but not too much. I am dreading crawling this fall. He just rolled over all the way Sunday so my world it about to get crazy. ;) I have a 9, 7, 3, & 3 month old.
  16. A site run by Amazon to bring you local deals. Last week they offered $20 off a refurbished kindle, earlier in the year it was $10 gift card to Amazon for $5. I only know of them via the hive. After following the steps you receive a code that you enter a check out. Somebody else posted about it last week.
  17. Amazon Kindle for $79. Last week the refurbished ones are $69 with $20 off via Amazon Local. I snagged one for $49. :001_smile:
  18. Monk we love trying to figure it out before Monk explains it.
  19. Secret code at dh's school. Most kids when quizzed wouldn't even know if they get reduced or free lunch. The free lunch crowd didn't even realize that somebody has to pay somewhere for the free lunch.
  20. I just ordered the refurbished Kindle with special offers that somebody posted for $20 off retail. Which cover would be best for handling by kids, 10 yo, 7 yo and may 4 yo. Thanks
  21. It is now on the newborn screen test. My friend has a now 4 yo who was dx as a young infant. She was told not to look on the internet as CF was being discovered sooner and treated and people were living longer than ever before. It is still a lifetime illness.
  22. Thank you! I used my Amazon gift card that I also got from Amazon local and just paid $39 for an ereader. YEAH! I was planning on buying on for ds for school next year. Thank you!
